On our NSW calendar we have lost five trials due to the extended dry conditions. We hope next year we will have a return to some better weather and get these trials back online. The trials that have managed to go ahead have had some good results and high-quality trialling, and behalf of our members, thank you for your efforts in these tough times. The selection trial ran very well at Molong in July. Congratulations to Mick Hudson and Paul Elliott on being selected to represent NSW at the Supreme and Bill Davidson being the reserve competitor. The trial saw some excellent competition and handling. All the dogs were well prepared for the Trans-Tasman course. Special thanks to John Perry for judging and to Paul Darmody and Pip Hudson for stepping up for John on the Saturday morning.A couple of reminders to trial organisers:Please send your results to the secretary promptly after your trial. Remember these results also contribute to the dog and handler of the yearAny Dogpro trials- after the trial, you need to organise to have the Dogpro banners etc, sent on to the next trial. Also, the money raised for the Supreme fund needs to be forwarded on to the Treasurer. The Hawkesbury Supreme, plans are falling into place well. Some points on the Supreme:The sheep have been organised through Paul DarmodyMick Hudson will be building the courseDue to the showground being so busy, we only have the Sunday (07 October) to set upSunday night is the welcome BBQAnyone who has indicated that they are able to help on the set-up day and have not been contacted, please get in with myself or VickieDogpro staff will at the Supreme, so make sure you take some time to go and meet them and ask any questions about their productsUpon arrival for anyone camping, it is important that you follow instructions regarding parking of caravans, so you don’t accidentally cover two van sites, we will have someone co-ordinating this on the dayPlease refer to the information booklet about the dog exercise areaIf anyone is interested in becoming a judge or think that one of your trialling friends might be, talk to them and then, make contact with the council to register your interest. After the Supreme, the council will be focussing on judges/judging. Remember if you are running a trial with a separate novice or encourage event, please look through the provisional judges list and give these judges a start and this will help get them on their way to open status. All the bestJon CantrallFROM THE TREASURERNSW Sheepdog Workers cheque a/cAccounts to 30/06/201801/01/2018Opening Bal 54280.98Income 17044.00Interest 105.48sub total 71430.46Expenses 40.803.59Balance 30626.87 chq a/c$ 15.000 to Supreme a/c Sydney$23.680.74 to Supreme a/cOUR NSWSDWI STATE REPRESENTATIVESMICK HUDSON AND MGH CATMGH Cat is a 2 1/2 year old border collie bitch. We have Morongla and Sydney Supreme coming up, which are Dogpro sponsored trials and wish them great success in the running of these events.Hypro has a new dog biscuit available now which is hypro Premium Grain Free working dog food. It is an amazing product as I have been feeding my dogs on it for 4 months and am very pleased on how well my dogs have done since starting it. Their coats look so much better and their energy levels are much higher when working. I had a vet pay my property a visit this week on another matter and he made comment on how great my dogs looked and asked me what I was feeding them. I enlightened him of the new product (hypro Premium Grain Free) and he went back to town with some sample bags for his dogs. I have sample bags for people to try, so if anyone would like to try some, just come and see me at the trials. Hypro has other great products also, ‘Game On’ is the next best product below the hypro Premium Grain Free biscuit and dog owners using the product have been telling me that the product is really good. It is a kangaroo meat-based product and their working dogs are doing great on it. As we know, John Camilleri (Dogpro owner) is very passionate about his dogfood, and the rural Australian business his product services. Combining this with feedback received from around the trails, John is looking to develop an additional Working Dog Plus product. Whilst at quite a cost to Dogpro, John is aiming to have no increase in price to the consumer. There will be some 10 handlers trialing the new product, providing feedback by completing a daily survey sheet on the biscuit. This is a key part to make sure the new biscuit is right on track. I would personally like to thank those handlers for taking part in the trial. I will have more update for everyone in the next newsletter. I am happy for people to give me any feedback on all Dogpro/hypro biscuits, so I can work with Dogpro to make all customers happy with their products.4425278684829Lastly, I would like to thank John Camilleri and Dogpro/hypro for their ongoing support of our sport and look forward to working with them well into the future. Happy and safe trialing everyone, hope we get some much-needed rain soon.Mick HudsonDogpro AmbassadorCongratulations to my good mate Tony Whitehead for allhis hard work at the let outs and also to Horacewho looks great in his hypro coat.MERCHANDISE AVAILABLEThomas Cook – Drill Shirt – Long Sleeve - Full Button – S,M,L,XL,XXL & XXXL - (Cobalt,Bone,Red)Bisley – Full Button Long Sleeve – Chambray – All SizesCloth Badges (iron on)The Order Form are available on our pulsory Liability Clause – Insurance 2017/18All Trial Entry Forms will from have the following liability clause noted due to our new Insurance regulations.I .......................acknowledge that working with sheep may put me at risk of illness or injury and that in attending this trial I accept that I may be injured from both foreseen and unforeseen events associated with working sheep and dogs.I will not hold NSWSDWI, the committee or any member of the association responsible for any illness or injury that may occur as a direct or indirect result of attending this trial.
