When it’s Character in Action!

At Basha Elementary, the one thing that is more important than Character Counts, is making sure our Character Counts outside of school. This year, every grade level is taking on special projects to demonstrate their Character in Action.

Here’s what some of the classes have done so far:

Ms. Hinrich’s 5th grade encouraged families to donate dog food that went to Marley Farms. You can visit the Against All Odds Rescue web page.

4th graders are encouraging the residents of The Village, a nearby Senior Retirement Community. Each month, all 4th grade students write letters and draw pictures, and then one class each month walks over to deliver all of the cheerful notes.

Mrs. Boyd and Mrs. Carlson’s 3rd classes are working with a group from Hamilton H.S. called Invisible Children's Helpers who will help to give books to children that can’t afford them. They will be collecting new and gently used books through Jan. 10th.

6th graders collected donations for Heavenly Hats. Students could pay $1.00 to wear their hats all day. They raised close to $600!

Student Council led the Rice and Bean Drive for Chandler CARE Center. Basha families donated over 1100 lbs of food that was delivered to the CARE Center.
