Parents - thank you very much for submitting your swimmers times.? It's apparent that because of Covid, not all these kids who are on Year Round Swim Teams have their most up to date 50 yard times.? Total of 51 (34 Girls, 17 Boys) students are registered to be on the Swim Team.??Because of Covid protocols and limiting the number of swimmers on deck for meets, we'll only be??able to accommodate?a Roster of 14-16 girls and 14-16 boys.? We're basing this roster on times and we've met with with MRMS Athletic Director and other Coaches in Union County to conform to these policies.? Our goal is to allow all who have registered the opportunity to solidify their spot on this roster.??Below are the ranked times submitted for both Girls and Boys.? These are good times and puts MRMS in a strong position competing against other Union County Teams.? Even if your child submitted US Swim Times and could be on the bubble of making the top 14-16, I'd still encourage them to show up at tryouts Thursday 5 November, 9pm.? SwimMAC Carolina, 9850 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC.? 9-10pmPlease park in the parking lot on the side of the building and send your child to the front entrance.? Or drop your child off at the front entrance and circle back around and park on the side of the building.??Parents will not be allowed to enter the building.? And while there are windows on the side of the building, they are right behind the diving blocks.? In compliance with USA Safe Sport, watching through the windows behind the blocks will not be allowed.??Swimmers should come to the pool already wearing their swim suit under sweats.? Also bring ?goggles, cap, towel.? Reason for asking swimmers to already have suits on is because the locker rooms are closed.? (It'll be cold Thursday night when they leave the pool.? Strongly encourage them to bring a sweatshirt and warm clothes for when leaving the pool)Time line:1.? Please send your child to the front entrance wearing a mask beginning at?8:55pm.? Swimmers will not be allowed into the building before 8:55pm.? I will be at the door taking attendance and also temperature.? We're using the same type of thermometer that's being used every morning at MRMS.2. Swimmer(s) will be escorted to the pool deck3.? Coach John Rice will stage on pool deckWarms ups 10-15 mins.? Based on the number of swimmers, we'll be spreading out amongst two to five lanes.??Timed 50 Free will be done by stopwatches. I'm a realist and want each swimmer to have the best opportunity that night. Thus, if your child wants another shot of doing the 50 Free, they'll get that chance.When your child is done with their swim, they will be escorted out through the side exit.? Coach John or myself will then send them out to your vehicle.Our goal will be to announce the Marvin Ridge Middle School Swimming Team for 2020 on Friday 6 November.?
