The American people are watching the incredible devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina and they are compelled to help in some way. Here are ways you can help the disaster victims in the Gulf states:

Volunteer – Donate your Time

Call us at 438-8844 and find out how you can help. Volunteers are needed to answer phones and process donations. Many volunteer disaster relief workers will be needed over the weeks and months to come. The American Red Cross has a goal of training 40,000 new volunteers by November 30. The Burke County Chapter has a training session set to begin on Monday evening, September 12. Learn how you can be trained and deployed to the Gulf states.

Support the Disaster Relief Operation – Donate Money

Help provide temporary shelter, food and water to the thousands of victims across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi who have lost so much – their loved ones, their homes, their city, their jobs. Make a financial contribution to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund today by calling 1-800-HELP NOW or make an on-line donation by visiting .
