Project Homeless Connect Donations Wish List

Project Connect

Volunteers Needed!

Project Connect provides a one day opportunity to deliver service to people in our community. It is for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, such as people living paycheck to paycheck, living on the street, in shelters or surfing between family and friends because they are unable to find affordable housing.

Project Connect began in 2004 in San Francisco, and has grown into an international best practice. This program has shown positive results in getting people connected in the community and into safe, permanent, affordable housing. Lethbridge has been successfully offering Project Connect twice each year since 2009.

This one day opportunity allows individuals access to many different support services that they may not have had the opportunity to access.

What:

Project Connect is looking for volunteers that can greet people, man the many stations, help with set-up and take down, and provide a caring and positive attitude toward the individuals accessing services.

Many people are interested in helping but aren’t sure what they can do. Project

Connect is an easy way for you to give back to your community and, in just one day, take a big step towards ending homelessness.

Where:

Fritz Sick Memorial Gym 420 11th Street S.

There will also be a mandatory orientation that volunteers must attend if they have never volunteered at Project Connect before on either October 24th or November 1st from 5-6pm in the foyer at City Hall.

When:

Nov. 2- set up between 4pm and 6pm

Nov. 3 - volunteering with the booths from 8am- 2:30pm and take down from 2:30-4pm.

Volunteers are needed throughout the day, however if you can only be there at specific times we are happy to accommodate your schedule. We appreciate and need any help!

Deadline to register is October 29, 2012. Please contact:
