The following list defines what those colors represent for ASC.Blue represents integrity and keeping calm under pressure.Red represents our passion for the game.White represents the purity of youth in sports.A white five-point star in our logo is a symbol of our state of Texas. It represents the individual in the team. Without the individual, there is no team. Everyone is a star in ASC.The A is for American. It is large and bold to symbolize the American fighting spirit. During the American Revolution a symbol comprised of a coiled-up snake and the phrase “Don’t tread on me” was used on a battle flag. The snake is a peaceful, calm animal that will remain harmless unless disturbed. If agitated, the snake will strike and quickly defeat its enemy. Our philosophy as a club is to teach our students the fundamentals of the game no matter their skill level or background.RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ASC MEMBER1. Responsibility to Ourselves – Our most important responsibility is to develop and strengthen our body, mind, and character. 2. Responsibility to our Club – As a member of ASC, we represent our club. We must strive to achieve excellence in all we do, on and off the field. 3. Responsibility to Others – We are members of a soccer team, a club, and a community. We will set the right example. REQUIREMENTS AND FINANCIAL RESPONSABILITIESAttendance: We hold practice weekly. Attendance is very important and will directly affect a soccer player’s athletic and tactical development. Players are required to notify one of the coaches one day in advance when not able to attend practice. Recurring unexcused absences will result in disciplinary action. 643890-2540Equipment:? Our Student Athletes are required to bring all the necessary equipment to practice and on game day. A soccer player’s bag should include: Practice jersey, navy blue shorts or warm-ups, cleats, running shoes, extra socks, WATER, and shin guards. On game day: Home and away jerseys, full uniform, extra socks, cleats, and shin guards.Financial responsibilities: Every student is responsible for a one-time purchase of a full team uniform and a practice jersey. A full uniform includes a home jersey, away jersey, shorts, and socks. League Registration fee is separate from Club coaching fee. Monthly coaching fee: $20.00 U5 -U11. $30.00 U12-U18. Players with a balance will not play until a payment plan is worked out with the club. Payments can be made online on our official website.Fundraising: Fundraising opportunities are available all seasons and may be used to cover any club requirements. Fundraising events will be held to help pay for tournament expenses.Parents Acknowledgement of Athletic Policies: Every student athlete will be presented with this handbook containing all the necessary information for participation. Each parent or guardian shall read and sign the enclosed material to certify that they understand ASC’s rules, policies and financial responsibilities. Electronic signatures will now be accepted online on our official website.Risk of Participation/Warning: All athletes and parents must realize the risk of serious injury, which may be a result of competition sports. Our coaching staff will implement their expertise and specialized training to safeguard every club member and properly treat any injuries.CONDUCT OF ATHLETESTeam Rules: Students will abide by league rules and regulations during games. Club members will treat each other, opponents, coaching staff, and officials with respect. Quitting a Team:Parents have the right to remove student from a team during the season with prior notice to the head coach. Registration and coaching fees will not be refunded after the season has started.BE ON TIME TO ALL PRACTICES AND GAMES.Parent/Spectator ConductSet the appropriate example as a parent and spectator.Treat opposing teams with courtesy and respect.Respect the integrity and judgment of the officials.
