Hours of Service of Drivers; Driver Rest and Sleep for Safe Operations

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Publishes the Long-Awaited Overhaul of Federal Hours of Service Regulations.  The

FMCSA published its final rule called "Hours of Service of Drivers; Driver Rest and Sleep for Safe Operations "  in the Federal

Register on April 28, 2003.

These new requirements represent the most dramatic overhaul these rules have seen in over 60 years. They reflect significant changes to

the driving hours. Compliance is mandated on January 4, 2004, and FMCSA is not allowing for early compliance with the new requirements.

As always, Fleet Administration is actively following the progress and implications of this rulemaking along with our partner, J.J. Keller &

Associates, Inc.  We are prepared to help you understand, train, and comply with these new requirements (click here
