Also, before the stock market opens on January 2, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. EST, reduce the allocation of any 2019 Dogs of the Dow stocks (that you will be keeping as a 2020 Dogs of the Dow stock) that have more funds than the desired allocation. For example, say IBM has $2,500 invested. Sell $500 to get the IBM investment to the desired $2,000 allocation per our example. On January 2, 2020 at 9:31 a.m. EST (the above sell orders will have been executed), add to the allocation of any 2019 Dogs of the Dow stocks (that you will be keeping as a 2020 Dogs of the Dow stock) that have less funds than the desired allocation. For example, say Pfizer has $1,700 invested. Buy $300 to get the Pfizer investment to the desired $2,000 allocation per our example. Buy any new 2020 Dogs of the Dow stocks. In our example, buy $2,000 of any 2020 Dogs of the Dow stocks that were not one of the 2019 Dogs of the Dow. That's it! You should now have an equal allocation of each of the 2020 Dogs of the Dow. You can now bookmark and track the intra-day, daily, and year-to-date performance of the 2020 Dogs of the Dow throughout the year.
