Job purpose

Community Investment Corporation (CIC) provides value to the community through financial assistance products, down payment assistance, and loans that it makes available to the southern Arizona community. The Program Support Associate (PSA) works with the Chief Operating Officer and Small Business Lending Manager (together referred to as “loan officers”) to support the loan program.

The PSA will assist loan officers with all phases of the loan lifecycle from collecting loan packages and preparing documents to servicing the loan during the repayment period. The PSA will be the primary contact for all Spanish speaking clients and therefore must be fluent in Spanish.

The ideal candidate will be extremely detail oriented, accustomed to a large volume of administrative tasks, comfortable and familiar with technology including databases and online tools to enhance customer service and create efficiencies for CIC. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a good teacher/trainer who is patient with clients, responsive to daily communications and requests from clients, and good at organizing and prioritizing.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist loan officers in collecting and preparing documents needed to move loans from the application stage all the way through approval and funding.

• Work with outside parties including attorneys, CPAs, title companies, business centers of development, local nonprofits, and other financial institutions in support of the work of the loan program.

• Prepare and distribute regular reports (monthly, quarterly, annually, and as requested or needed) for clients, partner organizations, and CIC management.

• Work directly with borrowers to answer questions, obtain information and serve as a contact during the repayment period.

• Establish, maintain, and update files, databases and records.

• Monitor loan covenants and collateral expirations. Request documents from borrowers as needed and distribute to the necessary parties.

• Process documents received for each file, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document.

• Act as the point of contact for all Spanish speaking clients. Assist loan officers with Spanish loan applications and servicing throughout the life of the loan.

• Assist with posting loan payments, preparing monthly loan invoices and processing ACH payment files either in a primary or backup role.

• Consistently work to find efficiencies in department/program processes with a focus on technological solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

• Fluent in Spanish and English

• Experience with lending, bank finance, or the finance industry in general

• 2 years’ experience as an administrative/program assistant or comparable position OR bachelor’s degree

• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

Desired:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Working knowledge of commercial lending

• Experience working at or with nonprofit organizations and/or with underserved populations

Physical requirements

Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs in order to carry materials and supplies as needed.
