The WMT has the option of being administered in Russian

To Resolve This Problem on a WINDOWS XP Computer:

Disclaimer: The following steps only sometimes solve the problem of displaying Turkish or Russian in the administration of the WMT. It seems that these steps resolve the problem more often for Russian than they do for Turkish

Download and install the Russian-Update for the WMT by clicking on this link: . Make sure you have the WMT installed before you run this update.

If the link doesn’t work, visit our website: . Click on Support from the main menu. Enter your email address and contact us for the password at GreensPublishing@ or at +1 780-484-5550. Enter the password and then click on Login. Once logged in click on Continue. Next, scroll down and click on Test Administration in Russian. Here you will see the WMT-Russian_fix_Update.exe file that you can download and run.

After the Russian-Update is installed, there is a program called "AppLocale" that you can download to allow you to run only the WMT in languages that don’t work properly.  The rest of your computer will remain in its current language.

Once the file is downloaded, double-click on it to open the setup wizard. Follow through the steps of the setup wizard until AppLocale is installed.

After the program is installed, click on the "Start" button, then click on "Programs", then select "Microsoft AppLocale", then click on "AppLocale" to open the AppLocale program.  This will open the first-time use wizard for AppLocale.

Within the first-run wizard it will ask you to locate the application.  Do one of the following:

A) Drag the Green's WMT program from the desktop onto the applocale wizard.  To do this, left-click AND HOLD the Green's WMT icon on the desktop.  While still holding down the left mouse button, move the mouse on top of the applocale wizard.  You can then let go of the left mouse button.

OR

B) Click the Browse button and visit the "C:/Program Files/Green's Word Memory Test" (or “C:/Program Files (x86)/Green’s Word Memory Test”) folder and select the WMT.exe icon.  Click Open.

It will then ask you for the language you wish to run the program under.  Select the desired language.

Once the wizard closes, the WMT will be running in the language specified until you close the program (note: you will still have to select the language from the options menu in the WMT)!  The rest of your computer will not change language.  You will have to open the AppLocale program from the start menu and follow the same procedure everytime you want to run the WMT in a language that doesn’t normally work in the WMT, but it is simple enough and doesn't take much time. Alternatively, there is an option within AppLocale to create a separate shortcut to run the WMT in the specified language.

For Administration in Turkish, try selecting the Turkish language within AppLocale and selecting Turkish within the WMT program. If this doesn’t work, try selecting Russian in AppLocale and Turkish within the WMT program and see if this solves the problem.

To Resolve This On WINDOWS VISTA, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10:

After the Russian-Update is installed:

1) Visit to download the “apploc.msi” file.  Save this file to a known place on your hard drive.

2) Once the file is downloaded, double-click on it to open the setup wizard. Follow through the steps of the setup wizard until AppLocale is installed. If AppLocale installs successfully skip to step #7, otherwise go on to the next step #3.

3) Click on Start, then right-click on the Command Prompt (or type cmd into the search box) and choose "Run as Administrator".

4) in the black screen, type:  "cd _folderpath_"  (without the quotes) where _folderpath_ is the folder where you saved the appLocale installation file.  For example, if I saved the appLocale installation file in C:\Users\PAUL\Documents\Downloads then I would type:

              cd C:\Users\PAUL\Documents\Downloads

and then hit Enter

5) next type:

              apploc.msi

and then hit Enter

6) After hitting Enter, the AppLocale setup wizard should open.  Follow all the steps to complete the wizard.

7) Once AppLocale is installed, go to Start-->All Programs-->Microsoft AppLocale and then click on "AppLocale"

8) When the AppLocale program opens click Next, then drag the Green's Word Memory Test icon from the desktop into the AppLocale program's window.  If you don't know how to drag the icon into the window, then instead you can click on "Browse" and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Green's Word Memory Test and click on the WMT program with the green tree icon and click "Open".

9) Back in the main AppLocale program window, click Next.  Choose the language you want for the application. Click Next.  Click Finish.

10) The WMT program will start.  Enter your password and, from the options menu, change the language to the same language as that of step 8.

11) Try running a test on the WMT and see if this fixed the language problem.

12) You will have to open the AppLocale program from the start menu and follow the same procedure every time you want to run the WMT in a language that doesn’t normally work in the WMT, but it is simple enough and doesn't take much time. Alternatively, there is an option within AppLocale to create a separate shortcut to run the WMT in the specified language.

13) For Administration in Turkish, try selecting the Turkish language from step #9 and selecting Turkish within the WMT program. If this doesn’t work, try selecting Russian in step #9 and Turkish within the WMT program and see if this solves the problem.
