As with most software installations, you can verify the destination folder and control installation of Start Menu and Desktop links.GETTING STARTEDBy default, the software installs in a folder under the Windows default program location:C:\Program Files\OFFROAD2007In this location you will find three subfolders:Bin -- Program binaries (.exe and .dll files) and configuration files.Data – Data files required to run cases.Run – User input and output files. You can start the program from the Start/Programs/OFFROAD2007 menu, from the OFFROAD2007 link on the desktop, or by opening the Offroad.Launcher.exe program in the “Bin” folder. OFFROAD2007 uses a front-end/back-end architecture. The front end “GUI” allows you to open, edit, save, and run input files. The back end “model” runs the input files and generates report files. Generally, all user interaction is with the GUI.The GUI is always in one of two states, either editing input files or running input files. When the program first starts, you can immediately begin editing a new input file. Use the File menu to open an existing input file to modify. While editing input, click on any of the tabs across the top (Episode, Reporting, Area, Fuel and HP, or Data Files) to select a category of input parameters. When you have finished with an input file and saved it, you can use the Run menu to start the back end model. While the model is running a case, you can review the inputs using the GUI but you will not be able to modify them.OUTPUT FILESAfter a case has been run, the output (report) files are located in the Run folder. Look at file ‘Messages.out’ for warnings, error messages, and a complete echo of all input settings. Each output file (report) generated contains a single “table.” The files all begin with a header that names all the columns, followed by rows of tab-delimited data. ................
