Setting up Teams for HTLC Courses BackgroundOver the next few months we are intending to offer webinar version of our professional training, through HTLC. Many of you will have received notifications from the Learning Zone, cancelling your existing booking to summer term sessions. This notification also referred to new Scheduled Offerings that would be set up shortly. Existing bookings will be transferred over from the original face to face events and new bookings will be possible through the learning zone.Where applicable, we are adjusting both the price, offering a reduction in cost to take account of the removal of venue fees and also offering multiple sessions to replace events that were previously planned for half day or full day events. All details will be sent in new notifications shortly.Preparation for HTLC webinarsWe are using Microsoft “Teams” for our webinar platform. This is an existing Microsoft product that is already bundled into Office365 packages that the overwhelming majority of schools use. However, it is still possible to access webinars through a Chrome or Edge (e.g. windows10) web browser without access to the full product. It is recommended that you download the latest version of the browser for the best experience. All notifications for Teams based webinars will contain a link for you to use to get set up in Teams, if you are not already.left119887Select Join Microsoft Teams Meeting in your meeting invite to be taken to a page where you can choose to either join on the web or download the desktop app. If you already have the Teams app, the meeting will open there automatically. It may be helpful to anticipate this by checking that you can access Teams on your preferred device. This could be a personal or managed computer/ laptop that you use at home. The download site can be easily found: en-gb/Microsoft-365/Microsoft-teams/group-chat-software . You can also find a list of supported web browsers online.Signing in will enable you to link to a web version of teams as part of 0365. Although the webinar will run happily using the web version of Teams in 0365 it is preferable that you download a full version of Microsoft teams within Microsoft Office (if you don’t already have this on your device). This will give most functionality to you. Education users are able to download this for free.Sign up for free will enable you to start a teams account linked to your personal e mail account (free to education users). You will be able to sign in and use O365 or download the full App version (recommended) but this will not synchronise with your school outlook calendar.Download teams is the preferred option if you are able to download software to the device that you are using at home. (You may need administrator privileges if you are using a school laptop depending on the policy in your school). The download will commence.-125573261219952782713595833172027130484center436880[Grab your reader’s attention with a great quote from the document or use this space to emphasize a key point. It is likely to auto suggest the correct email. Please use the e mail address and password that you normally use when logging into O365 for school use. Your school administrator will be able to give you this if you have not used it before. Many schools are already using this product and our experience in tests has been that Microsoft installation appears to be able to find its way so long as you have used the name@schoolname.hants.sch.uk format or similar school registered domain for IOW or other providers. Some users may need to use the name@edu..uk e mail address if they use that for 0365 login. This will depend how their IT provider has set up new users in recent times. We advise you to contact your provider for support if your e mail login does not work as this is not a function of HCC support currently so we would be unable to help.Users outside HCC may well see similar screens depending on their school set up and service provider but the principles should remain the same. ................
