Windows 7 and CanvasPro softwareCanvasPro Development Software for the eProThis software is a 32-bit software which works well in Windows XP. There are no special instructions for installation in an XP environment.Windows 7, 32-bit The CANVASPRO software will work in the Windows 7, 32-bit environment, however, steps need to be taken to install and setup the software to run properly in this environment. Prior to running the installation CD, the properties of the setup program must be set to run the software in Windows XP Compatibility mode. To get to the properties, browse the installation CD, right click on Launch.exe and click on properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and click on selection “Run this program in compatibility mode for: use the drop down menu to select Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or 3)”. You can then run the installation program. Prior to running the CANVASPRO software, you must also set CANVASPRO to run in XP Compatibility Mode.Windows 7, 64-bitThe CANVASPRO development software will have to be installed and run in Virtual PC on Windows 7 64-bit systems. Below is a link to Microsoft where you can download & install Virtual PC on your computer. Once Virtual PC is installed an XP environment must be set up to run the Canvas software. Contact your IT Department to review this information concerning installation and setup. Once the XP Mode is installed, it will allow you to run Windows XP as a virtual machine and CANVASPRO must be installed and run in that virtual machine. The virtual COM Port in XP Mode will also need to be linked to the physical COM port of your computer to allow communications to the ePro. Canvas is not Windows 8 or 10 compatible.ATS recommends that if you have an older XP laptop, hold on to it for using as a “Maintenance Fixture”. Disable the computer from being able to connect to the internet and use it as a direct connect program loader. If the computer is disabled from connecting to the internet, the security/virus risks will be greatly reduced and the computer can be reserved for configuration development and up/downloading to PanelMate only. ................
