Dr. Jesse W. Jones is a member of the Good Street Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas where is a deacon and teacher of the Miller-King Sunday School Class. Dr. Jones has served in numerous capacities in church and related activities including lay speaker and lecturer for the L.K. Williams Institute, workshop leader and teacher for numerous churches throughout the nation. He is now serving as Dean of the Good Street Baptist Church Christian Leadership School. Dr. Jones is a long time instructor in the Congress and taught “Creative Ways Of Teaching” for many years. Also, he is a former state representative from Dallas where he served for seven two year terms in the Texas State Legislature.
A native Texan, Dr. Jones grew up in Tyler, Texas where he completed high school. Additional academic training resulted in degrees from Texas College and New Mexico Highlands University. In addition to earning a Ph. D. in Chemistry at Arizona State University, he was also conferred an honorary Doctor of Science degree. For more than twenty years Dr. Jones was a professor at Texas College (Tyler) and Bishop College (Dallas). Currently, he is a tenured professor of chemistry at Baylor University (Waco).
