BASIC DRAWING RULES ONE

1. All sheets must specify the measuring system and resolution.

2. All sheets of the same part have the same TITLE:

3. All sheets of the same assembly have the same TITLE:

4. ALL LETTERING IS IN ALL CAPS ON ANY DRAWING

5. Use print preview to check that the whole drawing including the borders will be on the print.

6. Every drawing must CLEARLY have overall THICKNESS, WIDTH, and LENGTH dimensioned.

7. You must define and/or dimension the size and location of each feature.

8. Dimensions extension lines may not touch feature that they are pointing to.

9. Dimensions should not crossover or be set on top of other dimensions.

10. Every round feature should have a center mark if in profile.

11. Every round feature should have a center line if shown from the side.

12. Material must be given in each drawing of a part.

Basic Drawing Procedure

1. Select Sheet Format

2. Edit Sheet Format TIP: You can save blank edited sheets as templates.

3. Insert a pictorial view

4. Insert standard three views

5. Set units

6. Set Dimensioning style to ANSI

7. Insert> Model Items Settings: Import From Entire Model, Import into Drawing views>Import Items Into all views, Include Items from Hidden Features
