Dear Weller Road ES Families,

We are excited to announce that we will be using DreamBox, an online learning program, within our mathematics classes this year. This program will help all students to improve their mathematics skills. The program has a component that identifies the math level of the student and offers appropriate instruction to move the students forward.

Your child will be using DreamBox in school, about three times a week. We strongly encourage students to use DreamBox at home, or outside of school at the library or community center as part of their math homework. Your child can access DreamBox Learning from any computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. DreamBox is an online program, so there is no software to download. You do need a highspeed internet connection and Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is free and is included in many internet browsers

Select your teacher Enter your Username and Password Begin Dreambox (Screenshots of these steps are provided on the back of this letter.)

IMPORTANT- Please be sure your child works independently when using Dreambox. The computer will adjust to your child's needs. You may find your child will find part challenging. Please encourage them to be persistent.

Parents can track their child's progress by clicking on the "Set Up Parent Access" icon at the bottom of your child's DreamBox homepage. Parents will be prompted to enter an email address and create a password.

For families who do not have internet access at home and would like for their child to participate in DreamBox outside of school, feel free to visit your local public library or community center. DreamBox access information has been shared with the local public libraries in an effort to provide all students with the opportunity to utilize DreamBox.

Nos complace anunciarles que durante este a?o vamos a utilizar DreamBox, un programa de aprendizaje por medio del ordenador, en las clases de matem?ticas. Este programa ayudar? a los estudiantes a mejorar sus conocimientos y habilidad en matem?ticas. El programa tiene un componente que identifica el nivel de los estudiantes en matem?ticas y ofrece instrucci?n adecuada para avanzar a los estudiantes.

Su hijo/a utilizar? DreamBox en la escuela, alrededor de tres veces a la semana. Animamos firmemente a los estudiantes a usar DreamBox en casa o fuera de la escuela como parte de sus tareas de matem?ticas. Para las familias que no tienen acceso a internet en casa y les gustar?a que sus hijos/as participasen en DreamBox fuera de la escuela, no duden en visitar su biblioteca p?blica local o centro comunitario. La informaci?n para tener acceso a DreamBox desde la biblioteca ha sido compartida con todas las bibliotecas p?blicas locales en un esfuerzo para que todos los estudiantes tengan la oportunidad de utilizar DreamBox.
