Experiment: God’s Spirit Changes UsWhat you will need:A clear drinking glassLiquid dishwashing detergent2 tbsp of baking sodaVinegarFood coloringBaking panDemonstrate:Place the baking pan on the table to catch the overflowing experiment. Place the glass in the center of the pan and fill it nearly full with warm/hot water. Now add three to four drops of liquid detergent. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Drip two drops of red food coloring in the water.Here comes the fun part—pour in the vinegar! You’ll see it bubble up!Say:We are like this glass of water. We’ve all sinned. (Add baking soda & liquid detergent and mix into the water.) Jesus died for our sin. (Add 2 drops of red food coloring.) When we ask Jesus to forgive our sins, He does AND the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us. The Holy Spirit changes us and gives us the power to do what Jesus wants us to do. (Add vinegar and watch it bubble up! When it subsides, add more vinegar—the Holy Spirit keeps on giving us power.) ................
