Advance Applications of Community Support
Program Description
The DSM 5 has changed the terminology in the way patients are diagnosed for substance use disorders. This program examines criteria used in diagnosing substance-related and addictive disorders. Methods to improve in differential diagnoses will be identified. The role of co-occurring diagnoses will also be discussed when working with patients with substance use or induced disorder. Case studies will be used to compare DSM-IV with DSM 5, and to practice using the DSM 5.
