Diagnosis in the Assessment Process

Schizoaffective disorder has symptoms of both schizophrenia and of a mood episode. It must fulfill symptoms of "Criterion A" of schizophrenia. For diagnosis, at some point psychotic symptoms have to occur independently of abnormal mood (for at least 2 weeks).
