Membership Dues

We are still accepting dues for 2019. Please make checks payable to Fulton Heights Neighborhood Association. $20 per household, per calendar year. This money pays for our fliers, newsletters, signs and all the fun neighborhood events throughout the year. For those who have paid, THANK YOU. If not, we hope you will consider becoming a member today. Alisa Palmer - 309 Wiley Avenue Thanks for supporting Fulton Heights!

JUST A REMINDER!

When going out for a dog walk, don't forget your bag!

Remember to scoop your pet waste and dispose of it in a proper trash receptacle. Please do your part to keep our neighborhood clean!

Bulk Pick Up ? July 25th

It's soon time for that big clean up!! The city will pick up July 22-26, which means July 25 for most of Fulton Heights. It's a good time to get rid of almost anything, including those mattresses and couches! In addition, they will take "white goods" (refrigerators, freezers, stoves, hot water heaters, air conditioners and washer and dryers), tires without rims (limit five tires per location) plus any extra bagged trash on our regular pickup day. However, they cannot take building materials or electronics (TV, computer) of any kind. So, have a good time cleaning out that garage, attic or junk room!! Which reminds me --- on regular garbage pickup, the mechanical arms cannot pick up anything outside of the provided bins. So please ? no overflowing bins or mattresses, couches, TV's, etc.!!

Upcoming Events Around Town:

Farmers Market open 8 AM ? 520 South Main

May 18: Cheerwine Festival downtown

May 27: Memorial Day

Help Wanted! Any Time!

We need YOU to help keep the median looking good. If you can mow, that is Wonderful!

If you can pull weeds and dead-head the plants in the end caps, that is Great. And please ? pick up after your dog if you walk there!! Thank you!

Don't blow or leave yard waste

in the street! It clogs the drain causing flooding and pollutes our

waterways.

Sculpture at Mitchell & Fulton

It's been three years since we unveiled our Trolley Fare sculpture! It's time to take another look at it. It's entitled "Trolley Fare" because of the trolley that used to run down the middle of Mitchell Avenue (the reason for the median). A 5-cent token was needed for the fare. Look for the tracks and the trolley. The mirror stripes on the edge "reflect" our history. Notice the original plat map and the Ferris Wheel from the original amusement park. The roses depict the commercial rose houses on Elm Street. The custom stand has an abstract trolley architecture. The Mosaic sculpture was designed and sculptured by Jeannette Brossart from Greensboro. It was funded by neighborhood residents along with a grant form Rowan Arts Council and assistance from City Staff. To learn more about Fulton History, see
