APPLICATION

Applications for the 2020 Duke Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Program will be accepted January 6 through September 11, 2020. Prospective students will need to register after being accepted. Registration begins on March 9, 2020 and ends on September 11, 2020 or until the class is full.

Eligibility – Who Should Apply

Applicants with a Duke Certificate in Nonprofit Management plus 3 (three) years of management experience.

Applicants without a Duke Certificate in Nonprofit Management, but who have 5 (five) years of management experience.

The Executive Certificate offers high-impact training for nonprofit professionals whose leadership transforms organizations, communities, and lives. Individuals who apply for, are accepted into the program, and register, will participate in a comprehensive program that offers experienced professionals the opportunity to increase their capacity for effective entrepreneurial leadership, executive skills training, and reflective practices in an interactive learning environment. Day and evening hours may apply. Pre-work assignments are included.

Scholarship: Applicants who completed the Duke Certificate in Nonprofit Management qualify for an $800 scholarship toward the Executive Certificate.

For Sections C, D, and E – All three documents must be submitted with the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered for acceptance.

C. A current resume is attached and includes volunteer experience.

D. A letter of reference in support of this application is attached, written by a person who can attest to my leadership skills and work within the nonprofit sector.

E. A brief personal statement is attached, including why I would like to be accepted in the 2020 Duke Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Program.

Program Format: The Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Program includes lectures, demonstrations, practical work, pre-work, nonprofit panelists, and hands-on project work. Classes are well organized with exercises to help enforce the lecture materials.
