Job Details BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP MANAGER Reports to: Accountable to: Hours: Band: Location: Job Summary Head of Product Solutions Head of Product Solutions 35 hours per week, exclusive of meal breaks, plus as many as required to fulfil the needs of the post MSP1-Circa ?40,000-?50,000 per annum Michael Faraday House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage To act as the liaison between the business and IET’s IT & Digital Services function understanding the operational and developmental needs of the business. You will assist with the oversight and prioritisation of IT and digital transformation projects translating business needs into technology solutions. You will act as the first point of contact for customer directorates whilst also being considered as a trusted partner in representing the internal customer’s digital and technology needs within the department. You will lead the Digital Steering Group responsible for setting organisation wide priorities for business as usual technology developments. Main Duties and Responsibilities (Not necessarily in priority order) To lead engagements with directors, senior managers, service managers and external stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and translated into prioritised technology plans and progress communicated throughout the delivery process Working with architects define key technology strategies and ensuring strategic demands, such as spending review and services strategy commitments are met Co-ordinate and document future technology roadmaps for Departmental services and solutions Responsible for agreeing service levels for applications and solutions with Departments and working with the wider IT & Digital Services team to ensure they are met Create a positive impact on the business through reduction of cost arising from service issues, increased efficiency and improved communication through better understanding of users’ needs To work with management team members on annual IT budgets and forecasts, determining total cost of ownership for services and solutions To work with managers to provide business, project and IT improvement data to stakeholders To work with architects to understand new technology trends and forecast future IT application and infrastructure requirements Help evaluate IT project objectives and analyse new business initiatives Undertake any other duties and projects at the request of the Line Manager Comply with data protection legislation and act responsibly on matters of data disclosure both internally and to third parties Keep up to date on Health and Safety and Fire policies for the organisation and to attend mandatory updates where required This job description is intended as a general guide to the scope of the post and may change in line with the needs of the service or at the request of the line manager. Date 2 January 2019 Person Specification: Essential Criteria: Excellent relationship management – able to identify, analyse, manage and monitor relationships with and between stakeholders. Experience in supporting the business to define their vision, especially where it impacts technology and translating technology terms into business terms Experience of defining technology application and solution strategies and defining strategic roadmaps Experience of working in a matrix management style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels An understanding of service management framework principles and processes Ability to visualise, articulate, solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on information available Able to demonstrate logical thinking with the ability to gather and analyse information using comprehensive tools and techniques Ability to take ownership and proactively resolve problems whilst ensuring they continue to meet requirements Experience of working in an Agile development environment Must be comfortable working closely with all levels of staff, Members and senior management Excellent self-motivation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships across professional and organisational boundaries and encourage participation and knowledge sharing with other stakeholders Strong communication skills, both written and oral Excellent planning and organisational skills Has a ‘get on and get the job done’ attitude Desirable Criteria A deep understanding of technical concepts and the ability to understand how they fit into the wider technical landscape Experience in leading/developing a team of experts to deliver service improvements ................
