1.0.0 How to Log In to CG2

Type into the address bar.

Using the DCPS administration network or VPN, you will not be asked to enter your user name or password.

To access CG2 from the internet at home, the DCPS Student or DCPS BYOD network, enter your user name and password into the Windows Security box. Note that this may be different from the way you enter your user id on other DCPS systems. For example, if your user id is `smithj' you will use dcps\smithj in the `User name' field. Enter your password in the password field, and click the "OK". Warning: The slash following dcps is a back slash. This key is typically found above the "Enter" key and below the "Backspace" key on the keyboard (not all keyboards will be the same). Below find a picture of the backslash key. Go to step 6.

Select a School Level.

The list of drop down-boxes changes based on the school level selected. For example, when you select elementary, the drop down choices include Grade. When you select Middle or High, the drop-down choices change and Grade is removed as an option.

Selecting a value for each drop-down box is required. Work from the top down in the order the items are listed. Do not jump around. The drop-down boxes are "dynamic" which means they are created by the selection made in the previous box. For example, when you select:

2.2.0 Add a Create a Curriculum Guide

Press the Add a New Unit button.

Enter the Unit # and Unit Name. The Unit # is used to order the units for a course; it is not displayed. The Unit Name will display on the list of Curriculum Guide for a course. The Unit Name should describe the content of the unit. Both fields are required to add a Curriculum Guide. The example to the right shows a unit entitled, "Launching the Writer's Workshop." The writer has determined that this unit should be displayed first on the lists of units for the course; he/she enters the number one in the Unit # field.

Enter the Title and URL of the Benchmark or Standard. Both Title and URL are required. When complete, press the Add button. Press the Close button to exit the box.
