We continued to build new stores and enhance our online presence. No longer having a parent company to maintain our infrastructure, it was up to me to design my own shop and migrate all operations to the Atlanta area. We were purchased by Hastings in 2014 and my role ended in July 2015.During my tenure, I was responsible for a multimillion-dollar budget. I designed a fully compliant in-house payment processing solution which saved us 20% in bank processing fees in our first year away from our parent company.I eliminated hosting service fees by bringing back to our MovieStop VMs where it would be supported internally and leveraged the MS Dynamics NAV back end to handle shipping and credit card processing. My design enhancements net a savings to MovieStop’s bottom line of $65K per year.My EDI implementation allowed us to outsource our warehouse and streamline the shipping process for our website and stores. This brought us a significant savings over $100K per year and saved one full time accounting position.My newly negotiated data center contract brought MovieStop to a more advanced cloud platform where we realized a performance boost and a net savings of over $20K annually with almost zero effort.I ran a multi version Microsoft Dynamics NAV environment (versions 5.x, 2009 and 2013 R2) on a VM platform which covered my back-end business processes, the web site and stores. As the NAV administrator, I handled all day to day and long-term support and architecture.I led a small but aggressive IT department and had turned vendors into collaborators. I’ve been able to reap huge savings in hardware and development by piloting high end concepts successfully.
