Password Reset- Instructions

For Security Officers Follow these instructions ONLY if you've forgotten or need to reset your password.

To Unlock your account, see "Unlock Your Account ? Instructions"

1. Navigate to Bypass the sign-in option Click "Need help signing in"

2. Notice the options expand Click "Forgot password?"

Note: Enrollment in Okta multi-factor authentication required. If you have not previously registered with Okta, sign in on the above screen (refer to the instructions in the "Login Instructions" link) and complete your Okta registration before proceeding to the next steps below.

3. Enter your username, sometimes called your Employee ID (provided by your manager at time of hire...)

4. Select the reset method that matches the authentication method you selected when you enrolled in Okta.

(Select either SMS or Voice Call)

5. If you selected "Reset via SMS," you will receive on your mobile device a text message with a 6-digit verification code.

Note: you must open the text to view the actual code. Enter the verification code here Click "Verify"

If you selected "Reset via Voice Call," you will receive a phone call with a verification code. Enter your verification code on this screen and click "Verify."

6. Next you will see the "Forgotten Password Challenge" (this is the security question you selected when you registered in Okta multifactor authentication) Enter your answer here

Click "Reset Password"

TIP

Retain this information in a safe place for easy recall

when resetting your password later!

7. On the next screen, you will reset your password

Password Guidelines

Securitas requires a minimum 14-character password (passphrase), valid for 360 days, no capital letters, numbers or special symbols are required. Create a phrase that's easy to remember but doesn't make any sense, such as `bookmark on the lake.' Spaces between words count as a character.

Click "Reset Password"

8. You should now see the screen at right "Password Successfully Reset!"

Click "Back to Sign In" and sign in successfully!
