Coursework Information:Online Learning:The coursework offered by Frog Street will be accessible online using the CANVAS learning management system. In addition to the courses being available online, CANVAS also includes discussion posts, videos, power point presentations, assignment submissions, and opportunity for live chat and synchronous meetings. CLASS Observations:While performing the coursework, each candidate will receive a CLASS observation in the beginning of the program, at the mid-point of the program, and a final observation at the end of the program. This approach will ensure a formative evaluation is taking place during the entire cycle. Face-to-Face Trainings:Frog Street will conduct two 6-hour training sessions and two 3-hour training sessions that will correlate to the current content of courses being taught. In Classroom Coaching:Each candidate will receive 12-16 hours of job embedded coaching that coincides with the training sessions in each region that qualify. Frog Street uses the Practice Based Coaching (PBC) model. Coaching is a cyclical collaborative model that includes:Planning goals and action steps Engaging in focused observation Reflecting on and sharing feedback about teaching practices These steps are used to ultimately support effective teaching practices within the early education classroom. This coaching model is designed to meet teachers where they are and to work collaboratively to support their knowledge and increase their skill in everyday, effective teaching practices. Coaching sessions will be conducted by the Frog Street Professional Learning team and, as needed, by consultants living in the candidate’s local area. The network partners continue to be engaged in the planning process and the review of course content. Communication has taken place via email, conference calls, and network meetings. The Frog Street team and network partners are planning an all-inclusive meeting during the upcoming Teacher Leader Summit. Frog Street has been approached by other parish networks to expand the area of service and current considerations are taking place.
