This position focuses on excellence in learner support, teaching delivery and learning assessment. The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Regional Education and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student centred services for the Regional Education team.Key AccountabilitiesTeaching Delivery and Learning Assessment Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and ?meet their needs and learning styles Proactively support the effective use of Institute learning resources and meet student needs by increasing the use of blended learning options, workplace or offsite delivery and mobile technologiesAssess and correct student work in accordance with the Institute’s guidelines and standards.Teaching Materials and ResourcesDesign and develop high quality teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying learning stylesEnsure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirementsEnsure Institute teaching materials and resources are stored in accordance with Institute policies to enable collaboration and sharing across business areas within the Institute Student Retention and EngagementEnhance the student experience to improve engagement early on and assist learners to interact with their academic and social environment to prevent attrition and encourage successImprove the quality of teaching and learning through a student based approach and adaptive curriculumCreate and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learner cohorts Learner Success Work with learners to improve their employability and life skills Liaise with key stakeholders such as employers, schools and other education providers to explore pathway options for learners as requiredIdentify potential situations that may put learners, such as international students, at risk ensuring consistency with the Child Safe Standards and respond in accordance with Institute’s policies and agreed practices Refer students with special needs or challenges to Student Support and Engagement for additional support and guidance.Performance Ensure high quality, up to date and relevant teaching delivery, assessment and student engagement strategies to support learner success and contribute to the achievement of shared Institute goalsSeek and suggest opportunities for continuous improvement in own and business area practices Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, government requirements and Institute quality processes and policies Minimise waste and duplication of effort; seek ways to improve productivity with limited resources Implement the Institute’s Educational Excellence Framework across all teaching and learning practices People and Team Undertake professional development to ensure vocational and educational currency is up to date Complete and actively participate in the development of own annual professional development plan and vocational competency map and professional currency record consistent with Institute practices and policies Maintain a safe and productive environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment Promote the Vision and goals of the Institute both internally and externally Support, coach and mentor colleagues, particularly early career teachers, to facilitate the achievement of shared Institute goals as required Attend and participate in Internal Staff conferences, Meetings and Induction programs were required.ABOUT USChisholm is Victoria’s premier public vocational education and training provider, with campuses located across Melbourne and the south east.?Each year, we welcome some 35,000 students from over 43 culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. However, the Institute may, at its discretion, due to business needs require you to work from any of its other campuses, locations or sites. Advance consultation of the business’ needs will always occur with affected team members.Casual TeachersA casual Employee may be engaged where the employment:Is of short duration;Is intermittent;Is irregular;Is informal;Has no reasonable expectation of continuing employment;Lacks advance commitment or certainty as to the duration of the Employee’s employment;Has fluctuating hours; and/orIs subject to a freedom to accept or reject engagements without disapproval (provided that reasonable notice is given).Casual Teachers with this position description can only work for a maximum of 13 weeks in a 12 month period. Documentation RequiredAll employment at Chisholm is subject to the provision of a valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC); evidence of rights to work in Australia and certified qualifications and transcripts. Educator roles are required to provide certified copies of qualifications and a completed Vocational Competency Map and Currency Record.
