DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is the third largest high school district in Illinois. Glenbard District 87 encompasses 45 square miles within DuPage County, a suburban area approximately 25 miles west of Chicago. The communities of Glen Ellyn, Carol Stream, Glendale Heights and Lombard lie within the district's boundaries, along with portions of Bloomingdale, Hanover Park, Addison, Downers Grove, Wheaton and unincorporated areas.

Glenbard District 87's four comprehensive high schools serve students in grades 9-12. These schools are: Glenbard East in Lombard, Glenbard North in Carol Stream, Glenbard South in Glen Ellyn and Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn.

Of Glenbard District 87's 8,173 students, 29% come from low-income families. The demographic makeup is: white 52%, black 8%, Hispanic 22%, Asian 15%, American Indian 1%, and two or more races 3%. Source: 2015-16 Illinois Report Card

GLENBARD EAST HIGH SCHOOL

Glenbard East High School, which opened in 1959, is one of Glenbard Township High School District 87's four comprehensive high schools. Glenbard East serves the Chicago suburban communities of Addison, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights and Lombard.

Glenbard East was named to the 2017 Washington Post list of America's Most Challenging High Schools and has been named a GRAMMY Signature School semi-finalist.

Of Glenbard East's 2,352 students, 39% come from low-income families. We run a school-wide Title I program at Glenbard East. Demographic makeup: white 44%, black 11%, Hispanic 30%, Asian 11%, two or more races 3%, and American Indian and Pacific Islander 1%.

Glenbard East supports an open access policy for AP courses. For the Class of 2017:

TECHNOLOGY CENTER OF DUPAGE (TCD)

Technology Center of DuPage is a Career Technical Education (CTE) campus for 24 high schools in DuPage County, IL. TCD offers a roster of intermediate-level elective career programs for juniors and seniors. Students enroll in one program at TCD and spend that year in hands-on occupational skill development, workplace skill development, and academic application. TCD courses are granted 1.5 credits per semester. Each year more than 300 students from Glenbard District 87 attend TCD and participate in one of the following programs:
