Write some of the interesting words or make them from playdough or pasta. Look up the meaning of the words in a dictionary. Identify all the characters in the story and talk about them with your parent/carer.Verbally describe one of the characters – What do they look like? What do they do? What do they like/dislike?Draw a picture of your favourite character and label their features. Add lots of detail!Log on to Reading Eggs and practise your literacy skills. LiteracyChoose a writing stimulus from or use an image in a book, a photo or something you can see outside. Talk about what you can see. Write (or have your parent/carer scribe) a brainstorm of all the things you can see. Draw cartoon pictures to represent some of the words.Use the suggested activities to practise your speaking and writing skills. Make sure you use adjectives to make your writing interesting. Take a handful of your items and, without looking, estimate how many you have in your hand. Write your estimates down or ask a parent/carer to assist anise your items and count how many you have. Was your estimate close to the actual amount? How many different ways can you arrange your items? Draw the different arrangements on a piece of paper or take a photo to print out later.Can you create a colour graph with your items? Can you create a picture by tracing around some of the shapes you found? Use pencil first, then go over the outlines with a dark texta. Colour you picture in using pencils, textas or paint. Estimate which container will hold the most rice (or pasta, dried beans, or water)? Order your containers the most to the least. Draw the cups in order on paper.Test your idea. Can you order them from smallest to largest? Can you add them using counters or a calculator? Can you add or subtract 5 from each number?
