MAKE YOUR OWN EASTER BUNNY (no sew) : You will need:Some OLD SOCKS – 4-5 of them.2-3 rubber bands /elastic hair ties.ScissorsGlueGoogley eyes or hand-drawn paper eyes.Marker (to draw the mouth)A bit of wool or a pompom for a tail.RibbonsChoose which sock will be the best colour for your bunny. Now Roll up any two other socks in a ball and stuff it into the bunny sock. Tie an elastic securely tight. That's the neck bit.Next roll another sock in a smaller ball. Again stuff in the bunny sock. Tie again. That's the head. Now the bit on top left over. Snip it down the middle 2/3rd way to the elastic. If you do all the way you will get floppy ears. Cut from edge to middle if you want pointy ears.Draw eyes, mouth, eyebrows etc.Decorate with ribbons, hairclips etc.To begin, fold one side of a toilet paper roll to a sharp point. Do this with another roll, and now you have the ears.Leave the last one as a circle. Next, glue the two ear rolls together. Then glue them to the top of the last toilet paper roll. Make sure that all of the ends line up together on at least one end (this will be the stamping side).Dip the end of your stamper in the paint and get decorating!-3810036195000Paper Roll Chicks! You will need: Strip of yellow card (or paint a toilet roll tube yellow!)Small scrap of yellow paper?6″ pipe cleaners?2 small googly eyes?Pink pencil crayonBlack penSellotapeScissorsSingle hole punch/ scissors to cut a hole (ask an adult!)Start by cutting out a little beak for your paper roll chick. Fold a small scrap of orange paper or cardstock in half, then cut out a triangle on the fold. When you open it up, it will be a little diamond shape, and when it’s folded it should look something like this:Cut a piece of yellow card stock to be 1.5″ wide by 5.5″ long. Then use tape to attach the googly eyes and the beak to the middle of the paper.Draw some cute, little rosy cheeks beside the beak with a pink pencil crayon. Then draw some eyebrows above the googly eyes.0000When the face is ready, roll the paper into a tube shape and secure it with a strip of tape. You’ll want to have a strip of tape on the outside as well as on the inside to keep it together.Use a single hole punch or scissors to make little holes on the sides of the paper roll. Line them up so they are right across from each other, roughly in the middle of the paper roll.Take a 6″ long yellow pipe cleaner and slide it through the holes in the paper roll.Bend the pipe cleaners into little wing shapes and tuck the end back into the hole.To make the feet, start by folding a 6″ long orange pipe cleaner in half. Then fold each side into an “M” shape like in the photo below. Use your fingers to pinch the chick’s feet tightly to make two little “toes” on each foot.left-254000I was trying to keep things easy, so I just used tape to attach the feet to the inside of the paper roll. If your paper roll chicks need to be stronger, just use a little bit of glue to keep the feet in place. Then cut a piece of pipe cleaner, about 2.5″ long and fold it in half. Attach it to the top of the paper roll with a piece of tape.063500 Admire your creation!Easter suncatcherYou will need:Easter suncatcher templatecard scissorsvarious colours of tissue papergluetracing paper/baking paperhole punch (or use scissors- ask an adult!)string/ribbonCut out the suncatcher template. Trace onto your card.Cut out your card template. Trace the cut-out onto baking/tracing paper then cut the transparencies out.Cut tissue paper triangles of various sizes and colours. As you arrange them onto each transparency, overlap them. Apply glue to stick. Once the cut-outs are completely covered with triangles, place each transparency cut-out onto the corresponding card stock cut-out and glue along the edge to stick.Using a hole punch, make a hole at the top centre of each suncatcher. Thread ribbon or string through the holes then hang in a sunny window to catch those rays.right-60007500right181927500Easter Salt Dough OrnamentsSalt dough lends itself to all sorts of shape making. Once baked to thoroughly dry, the dough is hard and can last for years. The dough is also paintable which makes it all the more fun.You will need:– batch or two?of salt dough (see below)–?rolling pin–?ruler, to measure dough thickness–?egg shape cutter (or a knife- do this with an adult!)–?spatula–?straw, for making holes–?baking paper– paint– string/ ribbonMix up your favourite salt dough recipe. For this project, I used the following recipe:1 cup flour1/2 cup salt1/2 cup waterStir together all three ingredients until a dough forms. Kneading the dough a couple times can help make it smoother. Roll it out?(I rolled mine to 1/4 inch thick) and?cut out?desired shapes. Place the salt dough Easter eggs on the?baking paper. Remember to make a hole so you can hang the ornaments — a?straw?works perfectly!Bake at 250F/120C (fan 100C) for 2 hours.Leave to cool, then paint and hang! ................
