DYNAMIC DIY DUO DESIGNS DREAM HOME IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS
See It As It Happens On Public Television’s For Your Home With Vicki Payne & Sloan Rutter
Join television’s most popular DIY duo, mother/daughter co-hosts Vicki Payne and Sloan Rutter, for the 25th season of For Your Home (FYH)—and the most demanding one ever! For the first time, these do-it-yourself designers do it for a great cause—the 2008 Susan G. Komen Dream Home Project!
Vicki and Sloan again share their design expertise and experiences as they show you how to DIY with FYH. This season, however, there’s a catch. Vicki and Sloan only have 13 days to decorate and landscape this custom-built 4600-square foot house completely. In reality-show style, enjoy a front row seat to all the planning, coordination, setbacks and teamwork it takes to decorate a show house in less than 2 weeks!
Charlotte magazine’s highly anticipated 2008 Dream Home partnered with For Your Home, the #2 most aired house and garden show airing nationally on public television stations (after Martha Stewart)*, for this exciting project. Tours of the Dream Home help support the Susan G. Komen Fund, the largest grassroots initiative for finding a cure for breast cancer. Always a go-getter, Vicki enthusiastically takes on the cause—and for her this project is personal.
“As a cancer survivor,” notes Vicki, “it is a true honor to be involved with this project. Sloan and I look forward to sharing our ideas and concepts with our regular TV viewers as well as the thousands of attendees that will be touring the home. We will be relying on our national sponsors as well as dozens of volunteers to create a space that radiates the true spirit of the season and this important cause.”
Once completed, thousands of visitors will tour this home looking for extraordinary decorating and gardening ideas. The building of this 4,600-square-foot English style cottage home, designed and constructed by E.S. Johnson Builders, began in January 2008. The home will open to the public Thanksgiving weekend 2008, and remain open for four weekends during the holiday season. Special events, workshops, and tours will take place with all proceeds benefiting the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
