What happened in last school holiday’s at Saltwater?We had some school holiday programs last school holidays. We had some mask making and pot painting workshops for kids aged 7 - 12 years. The workshops were very successful and we had about 40 - 45 kids who attended these workshops. The kids had fun and painted some beautiful colourful pots. We also had some cartooning, human figure and portrait drawing workshops for kids and adults aged 7 years onwards. The workshops were very successful and were fully booked out. School holiday activities are a great way of helping your child learn while enjoying this time away from school. We do have some amazing school holiday activities for the upcoming holidays. Please contact the centre for more information.Saltwater Multicultural PlaygroupPlaygroup is a place where families can meet up regularly. It is suitable for babies through to children who are 5 years of age. Most playgroups meet once a week for a few hours in a local hall, community centre, school or religious meeting place. Each playgroup is different. The Saltwater Multicultural Playgroup meets on Tuesdays between 10am - 12pm during school terms only. This playgroup started this year in March 2018 and now has about 20 families enrolled in the playgroup. The families attending the playgroup decide what activities are provided for the children. At the end of this school term the playgroup families had a traditional day where they came in their traditional outfits and brought in some traditional food. Come and meet other parents with children in the same age group as yours, it is a great way for your children to learn about the world, make friends and develop social skills in a relaxing and fun environment. We are currently taking expressions of interest to start another playgroup. Over the last couple of months the studio has transitioned into an artist-led space, that is, a space in which the artists accessing it are now working together collectively to develop and run it.
