OPEN HANDS OF DAVIDSON COUNTY NEWSLETTER …

OPEN HANDS OF DAVIDSON COUNTY NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 23RD

Since February 5th Open Hands has hosted an All Night Prayer Service eight times for our friends who are staying outside. We open our doors when the temperature falls below 20 degrees or there is a Winter Storm Warning. So far we have had provided a total of 64 nights of warmth to our friends. This has been an experience of bonding and getting to know our neighbors who are struggling. We have had some very good discussions, laughs, very good food, inspiring devotions, and enjoying God’s grace as it is shown by everyone in attendance. With the brutal cold that we experienced last week, the prayer services gave an opportunity for those who had limited shelter a place to stay warm and experience a grace-filled evening. We will continue to hold the services when the temperature is going to be below 20 degrees. If you need more information, would like to volunteer, or need a warm place to stay on those nights call Bob @ 336-483-7035.

FREE DIAPERS

Open Hands is now a partner of the Piedmont Diaper Bank. This is a blessing to many in our community. Piedmont Diaper Bank provides diapers to organizations that work with mothers with young children. Diapers will be provided once a month to families that should last between one and two weeks. The children will need to be registered in order for us to get the right number and sizes needed. Please come by Mercy Station Matthew or see Bob at the Monday Night Meal Music and Message service. We have the forms available.
