|Job Summary and Purpose: |

|The objective of this exciting KTP project is to pilot an innovative e-commerce concept (patented) into the UK’s retail industry and |

|obtain product evaluation and subsequent improvement by business customers and end customers, using scientific methods and instruments |

|of measurement and evaluation. |

|The successful candidate will be appointed as a KTP Associate and will be based at the company’s office in Crystal Palace, London, |

|although they will be employed by the University of Surrey on behalf of the KTP. The Associate will be required to travel to the |

|Surrey Business School at the University of Surrey and to customer sites in the UK. |

|The Associate will work with Morris Consultancy Services and Surrey Business School to implement a innovative patented eCommerce |

|concept in a current theoretical business model which relies on business agility and a cycle of continuous improvement, through closely|

|working customers. They will ensure the product is flexible enough to meet the needs of a diverse market base of online retailers – |

|every retailer will have their own expectations and needs. The Associate will collect data for a conference paper publication, such as |

|the British Academy of Management or similar. The Associate will learn new skills relevant to the current and future business |

|environment and learn to be creative and apply theory in a business context to deliver an innovative product to the retail sector. At |

|the end of the KTP project it is expected that the KTP Associate will become highly employable both within and outside the company. The|

|Associate will develop confidence, skills and acquire new knowledge of the sector, the business setting and the market. |

|Masters’ Degree (Merit desirable) in in Business, Administration, Marketing, Retail, Computing, Management Information Systems, Economics,|

|Prior to Masters – have achieved a minimum of 2:1 or equivalent Degree in Business, Administration, Management Information Systems or |

|Computing. |

|He / She is expected to have an understanding of Internet Technologies (e-Commerce is desirable) with demonstrable knowledge in data |

|analytics and insight into consumer behaviour. |

|Relationships and Contacts |

|The post holder will work closely with the Knowledge Base Supervisor & Company Supervisor and liaise with the University KTP Office and |

|central KTP management where appropriate. The post holder will also have the opportunity of networking with other KTP Associates and will |

|be expected to meet regularly with professionals from Morris Consultancy Services Ltd who will provide feedback on the scope and progress |

|of the project. |

|Special Requirements |

|The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal working hours when required and must be willing to undertake further studies. |

|Background Information |

|The project is funded through the KTP scheme and by Morris Consultancy Services Limited. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships are collaborative|

|projects between a university and a company partner providing the opportunity to fast-track careers by benefiting from business based |

|training and personal and professional development, whilst managing a project within a company. |

|The post holder will be based primarily at Morris Consultancy Services Ltd offices. Contact with the supervisors will be maintained |

|through regular meetings in the workplace and visits to the University of Surrey. |

|The working hours and annual leave entitlement will be that of Morris Consultancy Services Ltd. |

|Working hours: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. |

|Annual leave entitlement: 28 days including public holidays. |
