Merges with Financial Plus

We're excited to announce that, by a vote of the membership on Monday, August 4th, EDCO Community Credit Union will be merging with Financial Plus Credit Union.

EDCO's Board of Directors and management staff selected Financial Plus as a merger partner in order to continue to provide a variety of high-quality products, enhanced services and greater convenience to its membership in the long term.

"This strategic merger is a win-win for both EDCO and Financial Plus," said Dave Cale, CEO/President of Financial Plus Credit Union. "We look forward to providing the combined 15,000 members with another full-service, convenient branch location as we continue to grow in the Greater Des Moines area."

We are changing our Debit Card program to benefit you with real time transactions. What does this mean? This means that when you use your debit card at a merchant, your transaction will be approved based upon your current checking account balance. In the past, your transactions were authorized against balance files sent to the processor 5 times daily. This meant that you weren't always given credit with your most recent balance.

Debit card holders will be receiving new Financial Plus debit cards early in September and will continue to have access to thousands of surchargefree ATMs nationwide on Shazam's Privileged Status network. Your

current debit card will expire on September 30, 2014. Below is some key information that will help make this transition a little less painful.

Your new debit card will be available for use as soon as you receive it.

You will be able to activate your debit card by one of two ways:

You may activate your card by performing a PIN based transaction with your existing PIN (i.e. make cash withdrawal at an ATM and enter your PIN).

Or, you may call the toll free number on the card and follow the prompts.

Your Online Banking Wish Is Our Command!

If a genie in a magic bottle granted you three wishes to make online banking better, what would your wishes be? At Financial Plus, your wishes are granted with our new Online Banking!

Wish #1: Make it so easy, my money almost takes care of itself.

We live in a society that wants to "set it and forget it". We're busy! We have enough things to do besides worrying about one more thing. With the new Online Banking from Financial Plus, you can easily set up recurring transfers and payments within your account. Got that auto loan payment to make? Forget it! You will be able to set up the monthly transfer and take it off your list of things to do.

Even better, you will be updated about your account activity via e-mail or a pop up message the next time you log in. You can set up alerts based on your balance and transactions, and there are even security alerts you can set. It's like having a personal, financial assistant keeping you up to date about your money.

Wish #2: Make sure my money is secure.

When it comes to your money, you want it safe and secure. That is why we've added another layer of security to our verification process. The first time you log into the new Online Banking, you'll be asked to set up three security questions and answers. They will be used to verify your identity and authenticate your computer in the future.

In addition to the added layers of security, members are also able to securely update their address, phone number, e-mail address and Online Banking identification at any time.

Don't forget about setting up those new security alerts, too!

Wish #3: Make it customized to fit my needs.

What do you want to see when you log into Online Banking? We're not talking about your balances, we're talking about the look and feel of Online Banking. Now you can set up the page the way you like to see it. Whether you like to keep it simple or see everything, you can configure the page to fit your needs. You can even change the order of the way things appear on your page. It's your money and now it's your Online Banking!
