Remote Learning Family Letter & Plan for Diverse Learners K-3, Room 212
Families of Room 212 Students, CPS is starting "Remote Learning" for students starting April 13th. Although students' grades will not be negatively impacted
by work completed during this time, it is SO important for students to continue practicing skills and engaging in academic activities EVERY DAY! We know how tough this time is, so whatever we can do to make it easier on you, please reach out to us. Below is a weekly plan for the first week of Remote Learning. It may seem overwhelming & we know this time is very uncertain & unstructured, so please just do what you can. Mr. Harden is working on getting families technology and wifi support for those who need it.
Morning Meetings: We will be hosting a "Morning Meeting" at 10:30 AM for students to say hi to us, answer morning questions, talk about a story, and discuss their plans for the day. We want to use this time to connect with students and with you, and to provide students to keep in touch with each other as well. Our hope is to add to this time & include phonics instruction as well as reading comprehension instruction.
What we need from you to make this happen: 1. Create a gmail account. If you already have a gmail, skip this step. 2. Text or email us your gmail address at rjohnson112@cps.edu or amehrhardt@cps.edu 3. We will invite you via gmail to a "Google Meet" which will start at 10:30 AM each day. Help students "join" the meet via the link we will email you. 4. Once you join, make sure you "allow" for the video & microphone access to be granted.
