From the readings, discussion, and metaphor work you have done with philosophies of education, write a one page single spaced paper that reflects your values and beliefs regarding education. The audience for the paper is a potential employer or colleague (principal, etc.) The paper should be one page single spaced.

A. The paper should have at least one reference (in text, and full citation at the bottom of the page using APA style.)

B. The paper should address four topics:

a. Use a metaphor or simile to describe your teaching philosophy.

b. Make reference to a theorist who supports your perspective. What strands or principles about his/her ideas about education relate to your own.

c. What does your philosophy look like in your classroom? Describe how your philosophy will be reflected in your classroom, i.e. examples of teaching methods used, classroom organization, etc.

d. Conclusion

Example: According to Dewey (1934), blah, blah, blah If you are using a quote, you must put the page number of the quote “Education has no aims, only people…” (Dewey, 1934, p. 16).
