Overview of the Role The Blavatnik School of Government is one of the newest departments at the University of Oxford. We are rapidly growing and now seeking to appoint a talented Programme Manager to support the School's executive education programmes.

Executive education is a developing area of School engagement, which we hope to expand further over the next few years. Our work in this area means that the post holder will be working on a number of emerging programmes and workshops aimed at senior public leaders from ministries, agencies or international organisations. The postholder will have the overall responsibility for the operational elements of the executive education programmes. She or he will be the key contact and the main project planner for a number of major executive programmes, high-level guests and potential programme participants. Tact, discretion, and a welcoming and positive attitude are therefore essential.

The postholder will need excellent team working skills with a flexible can-do approach, self-motivation, resilience and a willingness to adapt to the changing needs and priorities of the team and across the School.

Responsibilities/duties

Executive Education ? Act as the lead administrator in supporting the programme/academic director and teaching faculty in the design, planning and delivery of a number of concurrent major executive programmes. ? Take a lead role in the team on the overall project management and programme delivery of all the executive education programmes from the design, communication plans, induction through to completion. You will alert the Executive Education Manager (or partner if necessary) to any potential problems or delays in plans for each programme. ? Day to day supervision of the Programme Administrator/s and Assistant working in the executive education team. Ensuring the tasks, quality and deadlines are met for each programmes. You will always look for ways to develop the individuals and the team as a whole. ? Work closely with the Executive Education Admissions Officer regarding open enrolment applicants to ensure a smooth handover for the programme administration and delivery part. ? Manage the faculty contracts and ensure the Right to Work processes are consistent with the University and School's policies. ? Create and manage programme budgets with internal finance colleagues, the Executive Education Manager and with the client. Ensure complementary budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation of the expenditure. ? Support and work closely with the Executive Education Manager in contract negotiations with our partners and on development on new programmes. ? Provide high-quality customer service to external and internal customers and high-quality engagement with participants and clients. ? Ensure evaluation process is followed for each of the programme delivered. ? Be part of the team responsible for building and maintaining the School's virtual learning environment site for individual programmes. ? Create/draft promotional materials, which could include: brochures and handbooks, website information, articles, and alumni newsletters. ? Work closely with the Executive Education Manager and External Relations team to execute the alumni relations strategy. Help provide information to alumni network about interesting events, articles, etc. to keep them engaged with the School. ? Deputise for the Executive Education Manager during his/her absence as required.

Other duties ? Work closely with other School teams (Executive Office, COO, Events, Communications, and Finance) to help deliver certain one-off special projects / workshops relating to executive education or working with senior policymakers. ? Engage in appropriate short-term research projects. ? Such other duties as the Executive Education Manager or COO deem appropriate to the post and grade to support the activities of the School.

Selection criteria

Essential ? Excellent team working skills with a flexible can-do approach, self-motivation, resilience and a willingness to adapt to the changing needs and priorities in your team and across the School. A flexible approach to working hours will be required, as post-holders may be asked to work outside normal office hours on occasion in connection with events and courses. Time off in lieu will be agreed for working any events/courses that are held outside of normal hours. ? The ability to demonstrate a personable and diplomatic approach in dealing with a diverse range of people, including international programme participants, senior visitors, academic staff and other members of the collegiate University. ? The ability to know when to use initiative and when to seek advice. ? Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. ? High levels of accuracy and attention to detail when inputting data and providing information. ? Good numeracy skills, including confidence in dealing with financial data. ? Good IT skills including experience in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems. ? An ability to undertake research and provide recommendations. ? A systematic, thorough, and highly-organised approach to work with the ability to work to tight deadlines. ? An undergraduate degree.

Desirable ? Experience in planning, preparing and execution of events/projects. ? Interest in education, learning and development. ? Experience or interest in public policy. ? Experience supervising staff.
