Curriculum Vitae

Professional Profile:

An accomplished result oriented professional with a broad range of experience. Experience includes over 11 years of Strategic Panning and Business Process Design, Development, and Implementation. Experience also encompasses Project Management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Data Analysis, Education and Training.

Professional Background:

Since 2001 I have been involved in all aspects of the Educational Process at the University of Texas at El Paso. I am part of the Developmental Mathematics Department working with freshmen level students. This work has encompassed not only lecturing to those students but also identifying and implementing Internet based mathematics software, researching, designing and implementing new Educational methods for courses, personnel evaluation procedures, and working with a national company on implementing new technologies.

In 2007, I was promoted to the Director of Developmental Mathematics, where I have introduced new programs for student success, such as the summer program called Mad Dog Math that allows students to move through their developmental math during the summer. I have been actively involved in understanding and implementing the College Readiness Standards at UTEP, and have initiated changes in courses to include Mastery Learning as the predominant pedagogy thereby allowing students to be more successful. From 2009 to present we have transitioned our entire course structure to one that is based on a Blended Model, incorporating differentiated placement and instruction as well as one-on-one interventions for students.

Prior to my work in the Education field I was involved in the garment industry. My work in this industry ranged from Mechanical Engineering, to logistics, to a company wide re-engineering effort. From 1993-1996 I was a member of the Customer Service Supply Chain Initiative for Levi Strauss & Co. This was an elite group of professionals selected for their individual skills and ability to grasp and analyze complex concepts. I was involved in the team as a technical consultant for manufacturing equipment and processes. We were charged with totally re-designing the corporate structure nation-wide.
