CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TAKES THE GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE

Amherst, VA – CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL encourages community members and businesses to come together and participate in The Great Kindness Challenge, January 27-31, 2020. The Great Kindness Challenge is a positive, proactive kindness initiative, reaching millions of students and families every year.

In order to create a consistent, positive message throughout our school and community, CENTRAL ELEMENTARY is implementing school-wide activities during the week of January 27, 2020. These activities will include kindness checklists to encourage students, teachers, and families to do as many kind acts as possible. Kindness Stations will be set up around the school to assist students with completing kind acts from the checklist, students can participate in the Kind Coins for Mexico global service project, sponsored by Kids for Peace, Spirit Days and a whole-school aerial photo that will take place on Friday.

WHEN: January 27-31, 2020

WHERE: CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in addition to schools around the world!

CONTACT: Mr. Adam, Principal or Mrs. Kershner, School Counselor at 434-946-9700

WHY: CENTRAL ELEMENTARY wants to proactively create a culture of kindness in their school. In light of pervasive fear and violence, there is a call for kindness. The Great Kindness Challenge answers that call and provides an opportunity for students to unite and demonstrate that KINDNESS MATTERS!

The Great Kindness Challenge was created by Kids for Peace to provide schools a tool for creating a positive school environment. The Great Kindness Challenge is made possible by the generosity of our sponsors Toy Foundation, ViaSat, Mind Yeti, Nordson, TaTaTu, McGraw-Hill Education, and Wonder Kindness Certified Kind Classroom Challenge.

Kids for Peace is a California-based global nonprofit that provides a platform for youth to actively engage in socially-conscious leadership, community service, global friendships, and thoughtful acts of kindness. Over 13 million youth in 121 countries actively create a culture of peace through their two programs, The Great Kindness Challenge and The Peace Pledge Program. For more information on Kids for Peace or The Great Kindness Challenge please contact Jill McManigal at 760-730-3320.
