✓ Declaring your intentions; Our CDL staff was 100% compliant before deadline.

✓ Postings or flyers should be brought to management for approval prior to being hung.

✓ Tentative School Calendar 2014/2015 begins on Monday, August 18, 2014. Final BOE approval scheduled for 3/3/14. Until our Transportation calendar is complete, you can go on our U-46 website.

✓ Do not bring your own Pre-Trip book to your temporary bus and then take the book with you as you are now taking the only proof that you pre-tripped that bus. The book stays with the bus, not the driver.

✓ Assistants should not be used on a regular basis to assist drivers in backing their bus. An occasion may come up in which you need another set of eyes; this should be a rare occurrence rather than standard practice.

✓ Personal Hygiene: Be sure and wash your hands after visiting the ladies or gentlemen’s room. As a reminder, we do provide hand sanitizers throughout the building for your convenience and to maintain a healthier environment.

✓ Policy & Procedure Manual: Once released will be provided to the union to be placed on the DUTU website. Goal is to have it ready for presentation at our next InService meeting, May 2nd, 2014.

✓ So what happened at the InService meeting? Not to worry about hearing things second hand anymore. The agenda with descriptive details will be given to the Union Secretary to place on the DUTU website for your viewing.

✓ Accident Review: When completing paperwork, be very specific when indicating bus activity; i.e., hazards activated, yellows/reds, etc.

✓ UHC provides a service after you are released from the hospital in which they may contact you to see how you’re doing. Just remember this is a voluntary question/answer phone response. You can opt out of receiving these calls.

✓ Pot holes have been developing all over the area. It’s nice to let your fellow drivers know where they’re located in person rather than share that information over the radio.

✓ Remember: While driving your personal vehicle, use a hands free mobile device or you’ll be receiving a ticket in the other. Of course, I’m confident none of you use your device in the bus while driving. *.*

“What am I supposed to do with this?” grumbled a motorist as the policeman handed him a speeding ticket. “Keep it,” the cop said. “When you collect four of them, you get a bicycle.”
