1. For undergraduate students with outstanding academic records (in the top 10% of the class), or a GPA above 3.9: no more than 31 credit hours per semester.

2. For undergraduate students who minor or read in the Teacher Education Program: no more than 31 credit hours per semester.

3. For double-major undergraduate students: no more than 33 credit hours per semester.

4. Elite athlete students or Students with disabilities shall select at least one course of any credit.

5. Undergraduate students who can not complete their Bachelor’s degree in 4 years should observe the max. credit requirements set for their seniors; for those students with no min. credit requirement, they should at least take one course.

6. Students who have filled out Credit Overload or Credit Reduction Authorization form and received approval from department chairs & the Dean of Academic Affairs can increase or reduce their course load.

7. Credit requirements for graduate students do not apply to their theses or dissertations.

8. For those students with no min. credit requirement, undergraduate students should take at least one non-credit course, and graduate students can simply register for thesis writing.

9. Undergraduate students will be disqualified from the Presidential Award if

■ they take less than 15 credits each semester in their previous 3 years of study in a 4-year program;

■ they take less than 9 credits each semester in their final year of study in a 4-year program;

■ they take less than 15 credits each semester in their previous 4 years of study in a 5-year program;

■ they take less than 9 credits each semester in their final year of study in a 5-year program.

The same rules also apply to a 6- or 7-year undergraduate program.
