This year is going to be AMAZING!!! We will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary all year long with some special events as well as adding some new activities to our calendar! Watch for more information regarding the official Anniversary Celebration later this year in September. Each edition of our Newsletter this year will have a dedicated page for the Anniversary events and also some trivia. I am thankful that Farrel Kaplan has been such a great historian for the Senior Center! As I have been reading through the history of how and when the Center came into existence I am fascinated with how much work and effort it took. Hope that everyone had a Wonderful Merry Christmas and wishing everyone a Happiest and Healthy New Year!! A lot has been happening at our Senior Center this past year. We have added more activities and events and hope that our members are sharing these experiences with family and friends. Let others know about this treasure that we have in our community! I know that "Happy Hookers" (knitting and crocheting group) are growing in numbers, LOL and we are enjoying the creativity of this group.

As membership voted for no name change, we do have a fabulous new logo that our designer has so creatively developed. We are looking forward to having a digital sign that will be added outside to welcome new and existing members. We also look forward to a very busy New Year and new members. We need your help to spread the word!

MILESTONE RAFFLE: The winner for October was: Joan Boltz The winner for November was: Connie Muhlenkamp Tickets for the 2021-2022 year are still available at the front desk. Don't miss an opportunity to win $100 for only a $10 investment. All proceeds go toward operating expenses for the Center. MONTHLY BILLIARD TOURNAMENT: October's winner was Jim Myers with runner up Larry Curtner. November's winner was Bruce Bradley with runner up Larry Curtner The tournament is the last Friday of each month at 8:30am. Come down and join in on the fun and a chance to win the bragging rights for the month! CARRY IN MEETING WINNERS! Attendance prize winner for October was Jean Rhodehamel and November's winner was Elva Towsey. Each of these lucky winners received a $20 Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate to be used at a variety of stores in Sidney/Shelby County. JEFF DAVIS CONCERT We are excited that a local favorite, Jeff Davis will be doing an open to the public concert on Friday February 11, 2022 at 7pm in our Cameo Theatre! Cost will be $5.00 per person with light refreshments available. If you want to treat your sweetheart for Valentines, register before February 1st and pay an additional $5.00 for a long stem Red Rose to present to her at the concert. MEMBERSHIP: 2022 dues will not change. They are $30 for Shelby County residents and $35 for out of county. You can stop at the front reception desk or mail in your payment and we will be happy to mail your card back to you. Our goal this year is to reach 1000 members! We have hit that number in the past and we know we can do it again! Share with your friends, family and neighbors how great it is here at the Center!

CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER: We ask that before you use our exercise room and equipment for the first time you meet with a personal trainer. Laura's hours are: Monday and Tuesday mornings 8:15 ? 9:15 am

GOLDEN BUCKEYE: By now all 60+ year olds and disabled folks should have received your Golden Buckeye Card. But if not, Liz at the senior center would love to help you. If you are 60+ we need proof of age (driver's license will work just fine) and if you are disabled, we will also need proof of your disability.

RENTAL OF OUR BUILDING: Are you or someone you know interested in renting the building? Please call Rachel Hale (Executive Director) at (937) 492-5266.

BLOOD DRIVE: The next one will be Wednesday February 9th. If you need help scheduling an appointment call Rachel and she can handle it for you.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: Wilson Health Hospice Chaplain, Angela Barfield, will be facilitating a Grief Support Group here at the Center on the 4th Wednesday of each month. The group will meet in the Our Place Lounge on the 1st floor at 11am. There is no need to sign up, just come and let Angela help you work thru your grieving process.
