“The Spirit of Prophecy and the Remnant”

This sermon is a Powerpoint Presentation

^The Sermon title today is “The Spirit of Prophecy and the Remnant”

Shall we invite God’s presence as we pray…

^ The last living true prophet of God was the Apostle John, the loved disciple who wrote the Book of John, also 1, 2 & 3 John, and through his hand we received the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Why have there been no true prophets of God since then?

^ Notice what Jesus says in Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and (what else?) false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; in so much that, if it were possible, they shall (what?) deceive (who?) the very elect." Jesus warned us, His people of the last days, about false prophets who deceive.

^ We who read and study our Bibles need not be deceived, for Jesus has given plain warnings about end-time deceptions.

^ He said in Matthew 24:5 “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”

^ Jesus said in Matthew 24:11 “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” When Jesus said MANY, there indeed have been MANY! The not so ‘Reverend’ Jim Jones convinced almost a thousand people to commit suicide. More recently, another false prophet convinced a group of people to commit suicide, so as to catch a ride on a comet that was passing by the earth.

^ Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – The Mormons – Prophet: Joseph Smith – Founder LDS – 1805-1844 – In the Spring of 1820 he said he was visited face to face with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Even Moses could not stand such glory. No mortal human can be in the presence of God and live. Visitation may have been real, but the visitors were not from heaven.

^ Joseph Smith stated that his writings were superior to the Bible. That is not Bible faithfulness, so he is therefore a false prophet. By the way, Joseph Smith was killed in 1844 by a shotgun blast to the chest.

^ Christian Science – Prophet: Mary Baker Eddy – Founder – 1821-1910. Christian Science is neither particularly Christian, nor especially scientific. It shuns medical science and many have died for lack of simple treatment. The movement once had a million followers and has dwindled to less than 100,000. False prophet. No upholding God’s Ten Commandments.

^ Jehovah’s Witnesses – Founder - Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916) When the founder died in 1916, he was replaced by the second president, Joseph F. Rutherford.

^ Between 1917 and 1928, they changed their doctrines 148 times! They do not believe that Jesus is God, rather they say that He is the reincarnation of Michael the archangel created by Jehovah. False prophet. No upholding God’s Ten Commandments.

^ There's one man called Edgar Casey. A book on him called The Sleeping Prophet has sold over one million copies. Most of his prophecies failed but he is like a Guru to New Agers.

^ Books on the life of Jean Dixon, have sold rapidly. She claimed to have the gift, and although accurate on the prediction of the death of John F. Kennedy, her track record was miserable at best. Most of her prophecies were regarding Hollywood and the sensational.

^ The New Testament is replete with warnings: Matthew 24:24 (false Christs and false prophets shall show great signs and wonders and they shall deceive)

^ 2 Thes. 2:9,10 (We should look for that man of sin whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power, signs and lying wonders)

^ Rev.13:13 “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,” (Indeed our senses will be challenged)

^ Rev.13:14 “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;…”

^ Rev. 19:20 “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, ” (again, the warning of miracles . . . with which he deceived)

^ So the Bible predicted indeed that there would be an incredible upsurge in the area of deception and that there would be counterfeit prophets aiding in this. Miracles prove only one thing—supernatural power. Such power may come from either Satan or God.

^ Certain types of false prophets are condemned by the Bible. Let’s see what God’s word says on the subject.

^ Deuteronomy 18:10 “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination,…” (That’s fortune telling)

^ or an observer of times, (that’s an astrologer)

^ or an enchanter, (that’s a magician)

^ or a witch, (that’s a female psychic),

^ Deuteronomy 18:11 Or a charmer, (that’s a person who casts spells or charms)

^ or a consulter with familiar spirits, (that’s a spirit medium)

^ or a wizard, (that’s a male psychic),

^ or a necromancer (that’s a person who supposedly talks to the dead),.

^ Does the Bible tell us if miracles are proof that a prophet is true?

^ Revelation 16:14 “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world,…” People are fascinated and deceived by miracles. We cannot trust our senses.

^ Once again the Bible predicts that there would be a counterfeit manifestation of the gift of prophecy.

^ In Matthew 7:21, Jesus warned, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

^ Verse 22, "Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not (done what?) prophesied in (what?) thy name? and in thy name (done what?) cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works."

^ Verse 23, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." That word iniquity means "lawlessness." "You, who practice lawlessness." He never knew them even when they were working miracles in His name and were prophesying in His name and when they were casting out demons in His name?

^ If Satan can make somebody sick, obviously he can apparently heal them with a false miracle, make them think they're well, but let them continue to live a life of disobedience and in a false security. Jesus didn't say "Beware of all prophets in the last days." He simply warned against accepting false ones.

^ Who does God reveal His plans to?

^ Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

^ Would there be prophets in God's last-day church?

^ We will look for the answer starting in Ephesians 4:8. “Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

^ What were those gifts?

^ Verse 11, "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"

^ For what reason and how long would these gifts remain in the church?

^ Verse 12, "For the perfecting of the saints," (that's the people of God). The Bible says, "... for the work of the ministry, for the edifying (that means the upbuilding) of the body of Christ:

^ Verse 13 “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,

^ unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” The gifts of the Spirit including the gift of prophecy, would be in the church right to the end.

^ 1 Corinthians 1:7 "Even as the testimony of Christ (And what's the testimony of Jesus? The Spirit of Prophecy!) was confirmed in you (The Church): So that ye come behind in (what?) no gift; (for how long?) waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:"

^ Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the (what?) last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall (what?) prophesy,…” Peter prophesied that in the last days that God would pour out His Spirit and prophets would arise, men and women.

^ Revelation 12:17, "And the dragon (who's that? Satan) was wroth (what does that mean? Angry) with the woman (who's that? The church), and went to make war with (what?) the remnant (what's the remnant? The last part. The remnant does not mean its different, it just means its at the end), of her seed,

^ which (do what?) keep the commandments of God," But they have something else. What do they have? "...the testimony of Jesus Christ." The remnant church of Revelation, not only keeps God's commandments but MUST also has the testimony of Jesus.

^ Keep in mind that the devil wouldn't be so angry unless they were on the right road— the road of obedience to all of God's commandments.

^ What is the testimony of Jesus? Revelation 19:10 tells the story of an angel on the island of Patmos coming down to give John a message. And John says, "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not;

^ I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the (what?) spirit of prophecy." So the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. And who has the Testimony of Jesus? The brethren! Who are the brethren that had the Testimony of Jesus?

^ Revelation 22:9 "Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the (who?) prophets, and (who else are the brethren?) of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God."

^ When Israel disobeyed God, what did He do with the gift of prophecy? He took it away. Why are so many of the Christian churches of today left in darkness? They have taught the rejection of the law of God, and even more specifically, they've rejected the true holy Sabbath—God’s special sign of faithfulness to His law.

^ Prov. 29:18“Where there is no vision the people (what?) perish.”

^ Jesus made it clear that the gift of prophecy will be restored to His end-time church.

^ God would have a remnant church in the last days that would keep His commandments and would have the gift of prophecy.

^ The Bible clearly instructs us not to despise prophesyings. If we reject the God’s true prophet, we reject the Testimony of Jesus and therefore reject Jesus Himself. This is no small matter!

^ Jeremiah 28:9 “…then shall the prophet be known, that the Lord hath truly sent him." So the Bible says if the prophet makes predictions and if those predictions come to pass, that is one way of knowing that the prophet is accurate. But if the message proves to be inaccurate, it is not from God!

^ Secondly, the gift of prophecy is given to lead men and women back to the Bible. A so-called prophet may make a prediction that may come to pass, but the prophecy may lead away from the Bible. Sometimes even the devil can guess right! So test #2 is Biblical faithfulness

^ Deuteronomy 13:1 The true gift of prophecy is never a substitute for the Scripture, however it leads men and women back in harmony with the Scripture. "If there arise among you a (what?) prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,... ."

^ Verse 2, "And the sign or wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

^ Verse 3, Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, …"

^ So here the prophet has made a prediction, it comes to pass, but the prophet teaches things that are not in harmony with the Bible, and the Bible says, "Don't go follow after that prophet because the prophet must be tested by the Bible."

^ Third, the genuine gift of prophecy exalts Jesus Christ and does not speak about itself and does not write about itself, but it exalts Jesus. It is a witness for Jesus.

^ Now the Bible gives us another test for the true gift of prophecy in 1 John 4:1,2 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God." Why try or test the spirits? "because many false prophets are gone out into the world." Now if there are many false prophets, there also has to be what? True! Because the false is only compared by the what? True!

^ There are only two sources — God and Satan; good and evil; light and darkness. Discern the spirit behind that kind of writing! The Bible says that the true gift of prophecy is high, holy and noble. It is accurate. It leads people back to the Bible. Notice 1 John 4:2, "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of (what?) God."

^ The Bible says that one of the tests of a true prophet is to lead men and women back to Jesus, and they recognize the deity of Jesus.

^ Test the gift of prophecy. The fourth test of the gift of prophecy is the relationship to the Law. Isaiah 8:20 "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is (what?) no light in them." The Bible says, "To the law." Any so-called prophet that does not exalt God's law and does not lead back to commandment-keeping is not a true prophet but a false prophet.

^ God's Word says that any so-called prophet that leads away from the law cannot be a genuine prophet because in the true remnant church, the entire law of God, and the gift of prophecy go together—according to the Bible. So the 4th Bible test of a true prophet is that they uphold God’s Ten Commandment law.

^ All ten, including the 4th commandment regarding God’s seventh day Sabbath!

^ 5th - There would be certain physical tests that a genuine prophet would manifest.

^ Numbers 24:4 “He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:” If the vision lasts for hours, they never blink.

^ Daniel 10:8 “Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me:…” Verse 17 “For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me,”

^ Daniel 10:17 “neither is there breath left in me.” The prophet in vision always had their eyes open, had no human strength and did not breathe. And so there are physical tests a true prophet must meet.

^ And 6th, a genuine prophet would have spiritual fruitage, that is to say, it's concern, focus, counsels, and prophecies would center mainly around spiritual matters and things having to do with God, and not secular matters. The gift of prophecy would be given to the church, not to Hollywood.

^ Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

^ But how will we know Lord? Verse 20, "Wherefore by their (what?) fruits ye shall know them." What is the spiritual fruitage? That is to say, what effect or influence has this had on the church, the body of Christ?

^ 1 Corinthians 12:28. "And God hath set some in (Where?) the church, first apostles, secondarily (what?) prophets." What is the work of the prophet?

^ It involves speaking for God

^ The prophet reveals God’s purposes.

^ They are to strengthen and guide church leaders.

^ They are to encourage the church to faithfulness.

^ They do preaching and teaching.

^ And they bring others to a knowledge of the truth.

^ God raised up a commandment-keeping people to get ready for the coming of Jesus and the Bible says that the faithful, remnant church would have the testimony of Jesus; which is "The Spirit of prophecy."

^ If you take the spirit or gift of prophecy out of the church, you lose one of the identifying marks of the remnant church. Has God blessed the Seventh-day Adventist Church with the gift of prophecy? The facts speak for themselves.

^ How did that gift of prophecy rise within the Adventist church? After 1798, shortly after the dark ages, men and women of a variety of faiths and creeds believed that Jesus was coming in 1844.

^ They were Baptist, Presbyterian and Methodist Christians; they were looking forward to the coming of Jesus. They studied their Bibles, but as Jesus did not come, they were bitterly disappointed.

^ They could not conscientiously go back into any of those churches that were not following the Bible. What was God going to do? How could He bring these Catholics, Baptists, Presbyterians and Methodists together in His last-day movement? They began to study the Bible, and as they did, an amazing thing happened.

^ Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” God wanted to send them a message of hope and encouragement, to keep advancing in the light of Bible truth, and complete the reformation that had been started years before and that He was going to be with them.

^ He was going to take this little band of believers and weld them together in a last-day movement with a prophetic message whose time had come—a message that would go around the globe.

^ The Lord blessed that little group with the true gift of prophecy. How does He do that? Numbers 12:6 "And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream."

^ And faithful to His word, God raised up the gift of prophecy to guide his disappointed people and lead them into a worldwide movement to proclaim the gospel.

^ Jesus testifies through the earthly prophet by visions and dreams. The choice of a person to be a prophet is entirely in the hands of God. Both men and women have from time to time been chosen by God to speak for Him. In the Bible there were prophetesses as well as prophets. Deborah was a prophetess. Anna, Huldah, and Miriam were all prophetesses.

^ God blessed the mind of a young seventeen year old woman named Ellen Harmon by giving her the spiritual gift of prophecy. She later married a minister named James White and became known as Ellen White. Ellen White was born in 1827 in Maine, and died in 1915 in California. At the age of 14 she gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized. From that point on she tried to walk as closely with the Lord as she knew how.

^ God first called her to be a spokesperson for Him in Dec. 1844, the exact year that the Bible tells us the “time of God’s judgment” began.

^ Over her lifetime, Ellen White had an estimated 2,000 prophetic visions and dreams. As a young girl, her formal education ended at the third grade, and yet she wrote on a highly educated level. The Lord instructed her to write out what she had been shown in dreams or visions.

^ She wrote over 100,000 manuscript pages, an estimated 25 million words, which included over 60 books, and she meets the Bible tests for a true prophet. Its own evidence shows it is from a divine source and is of such a godly nature that is seems to be the very "testimony of Jesus.“ There is a depth and power to her writings that cannot be explained by human wisdom alone.

^ She wrote volumes on subjects she had never studied. She set forth principles and scientific facts that were unknown to the most learned men of her day, but today are accepted as proven scientific facts. And she has lectured to tens of thousands on three continents.

^ This remarkable woman, though almost entirely self-educated, has written and published

^ more books in more languages which circulate to the greater extent than any other woman in history. Her little book "Steps to Christ" has sold an estimated 50 million copies and has been translated into at least 120 different languages, making Ellen G. White apparently "the fourth most translated author in the history of literature and the most translated woman writer, also the most translated American author of either sex."

^ Source: (Roger W. Coon, A Gift of Light; Washington, D.C.: Review and Herald Publishing Assn., 1983, p.21) Her writings include counsel on victorious Christian living, diet and health, prenatal care, drugs, marriage and the home, child guidance, education, and much, much, more

^ At Groveland, Massachusetts, in 1876 for more than an hour, she addressed her largest audience, estimated at 20,000, without the aid of a microphone. Sometimes when she was in vision she received extra-ordinary strength.

^ Once in vision she held a very large family Bible at arms-length for over a half hour as she pointed to the texts that were being told her in vision. An average man can not hold that Bible at arm's length for even 2 minutes let alone half an hour.

^ In keeping with Dan.10:17, she didn't breathe while in vision. Sometimes her visions lasted 30, 40 minutes even over an hour and as much as 4 hours. They put a candle right in front of her mouth and the flame would not flicker. They put a mirror right in front of her mouth and no vapor formed on the mirror. God supernaturally sustained her.

^ Her philosophy of education, as expressed in her book titled Education, has been read and given resounding praise by high educational officials around the world. Ellen White wrote about Christian schools. Today, Seventh-day Adventists have over 4,675 educational institutions and over four hundred thousand students around the world.

^ Let me ask you, how could a woman with only a third grade formal education, be an architect of this? How could she outline a blueprint for an educational system that is the largest Protestant educational system in the world? God wanted to train Christian young people in Christian schools, so He blessed her mind to write on the subject.

^ HEALTH: God blessed the mind of Ellen White to write on health. Her instructions for better health, which were so strange when she wrote them, are so normal today, and have been praised by various experts, books on health that baffle modern health experts with their accuracy.

^ God knew that the health practices of men and women would be destroying their bodies. In the 1800's physicians were prescribing as having medicinal value, tobacco, cigars, pipes and cigarettes. They felt that the smoke would cure lung diseases. But God wanted a people with pure bodies ready for the coming of Jesus. In that book, she wrote over a hundred years ago that cigarette smoking and tobacco are related to cancer.

^ She also wrote that “Tobacco is a poison of the most deceitful and malignant kind, having an exciting, then a paralyzing influence upon the nerves of the body. It is all the more dangerous because its effects upon the system are so slow, and at first scarcely perceivable. Multitudes have fallen victims to its poisonous influence. They have surely murdered themselves by this slow poison. And we ask. What will be their waking in the resurrection morning?”

^ 2) She talked about a high-fat diet bringing on heart disease.

^ 3) Ellen White wrote before anybody knew about pre-natal influence – that the diet of the mother affected the unborn. Before anybody knew about the fact that diet or the attitude of the mother affected the baby. Absolutely amazing predictions! Ellen White wrote a book called, The Ministry of Healing. Dr. Clyde McCay, the late professor of nutrition at Cornell University said that this book was a hundred years ahead of its time.

^ In her book "Ministry of Healing" Page 313 is recorded a prophecy Ellen White made regarding Cancer. She made two points: 1) Cancer can be in the form of a germ; 2)Cancer can be transmitted through eating diseased meat. Newsweek magazine March 27, 1961 "There isn't the slightest doubt in our minds, that human cancers are caused by viruses. To this extent, they are simply infectious disease."

^ Medical science establishes this incredible statement she made back in 1905 and says there isn't the slightest doubt about it. Ellen White wrote what became a book called Counsels on Diets and Foods, to help us to know how to be the healthiest possible before the coming of Jesus.

^ The 1st test of a true prophet is prophetic accuracy and to lead men and women back to the Bible and to exalt the Bible.

^ 2. Biblical faithfulness. Her writings make it clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested.

^ This is from her book, Great Controversy Page 7. “The Holy Scriptures are to be accepted as an authoritative, infallible revelation of His will. They are the standard of character, the revealer of doctrines, and the test of experience.”

^ And this quote, same book page 595 “God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms.”

^ In Great Controversy Pg 204-205 she stated, “In our time there is a wide departure from their doctrines and precepts, and there is need of a return to the great Protestant principle--the Bible, and the Bible only, as the rule of faith and duty.”

^ Ellen White meets the third test of a true prophet, she exalts Jesus.

^ “Lift up Jesus, you that teach the people, lift Him up in sermon, in song, in prayer. Let all your powers be directed to pointing souls, confused, bewildered, lost, to "the Lamb of God."” GW Pg. 160

^ The true gift of prophecy leads back to the Bible and exalts Jesus Christ. Listen to these beautiful words penned by Ellen White on Jesus. "He was treated as we deserve in order that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins in which He had no share that we might be justified by His righteousness in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours that we might receive the life that was His."

^ Ellen White wrote a book called, The Desire of Ages, on the life of Christ. In 1948 W. E. Bemont, who was the then librarian for the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., was asked which book is the most outstanding. And W. E. Bemont, the congressional librarian said, "Of all the books in the Library of Congress on the life of Jesus, there's one that makes you feel as if you're there on the sea of Galilee; there's one that makes you feel as though you're there when Christ is being crucified. There's one that exalts Christ more than any other. The Desire of Ages by Ellen White."

^ And this recent quote, “My preference or choice would be guided by what I wish to get from the book or books to be read, but let me put it this way: I would put the Desire of Ages, by Ellen G. White first for spiritual discernment and practical application.” (An official at the Library of Congress)

^ She met the test in regards to teaching commandment keeping.

^ She met all the Biblical Physical tests.

^ The Holy Spirit blessed this amazing woman that only had a third grade formal education, to write on the Christian home and the Christian family.

Ellen White wrote a book called, Child Guidance, how to raise happy, loving, Christian children that love Jesus. Do we need guidance for our children today? Do we need special help?

^ Ellen White wrote another book on The Adventist Home. Would homes be falling apart in the time of the end? Conflict between husbands and wives? She wrote a book on how to have a happy home. Keep in mind, the gift is not the person, the gift is the prophetic influence and instruction from Jesus!

^ The Bible says, "By their (what?) fruits ye shall know them." God's true prophet would be placed in His commandment-keeping church, and you look at the fruits. What is the spiritual fruitage? Her entire life was devoted to saving the lost in the name of Christ. The spiritual fruitage are hospitals, schools and churches. Things of God, not of the world.

^ The spiritual fruitage are consecrated physicians giving their lives in remote jungle places. Dentists operating in out of the way places.

^ In 205 out of 226 countries listed by the United Nations, Seventh-day Adventists operate over 16,000 churches, 321 mission hospitals,

^ 23 launches flying doctor planes. All of these numbers are added to daily.

^ Here is pictured the world renown Loma Linda University Medical Center. Today Seventh-day Adventists have 46 publishing houses, publishing Christian literature in 273 languages using another 642 languages orally. A total of more than 915 tongues are used to proclaim Jesus Christ. These are the fruits of Ellen White's labor. A world-wide church that is committed with a passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

^ This little group that came together in the 1800's, caught the vision— “Expand”. Tens of thousands of consecrated medical missionaries around the world. No Ellen White doesn't take the place of the Bible. Not at all!

^ Seventh-day Adventists don't consider her writings above the Bible, but when the early church was disappointed in 1844, God blessed and redirected its vision. Through the guidance of the gift of prophecy and the testimony of Jesus, people's attention was focused back to the Bible with a message to go to the world today.

^ The remnant church does not exalt the messenger. We always want to exalt Jesus and point men and women to Jesus Christ. The gift of prophecy is not the person—it’s the message from Jesus!

^ "By there fruits, ye shall know them." Upon her passing, note this statement in the Saint Helens California Star Magazine, July 23, 1915 "Her death marks the calling of another noted leader in religious thought and one who's almost ninety years were full to overflowing with good deeds, kind words, and earnest prayers for all man-kind."

^ At her death in 1915 the New York City Independent, another non-Adventist source, said of her, "Here is a notable record and she deserved great honor. She showed no spiritual pride and she sought no filthy lucre. She lived the life and did the work of a worthy prophetess." Her primary concern in life was the salvation of human beings. She made an almost unparalleled spiritual impact on the lives of millions from one end of the earth to the other.

^ On September 25, 1997, Paul Harvey said this about Ellen White, “Women have been honored on American postage stamps for more than 100 years; starting with one woman who was not an American, Queen Isabella in 1893. Since then, 86 women have been honored ranging from Martha Washington to Marilyn Monroe;

^ Also many women authors like Louisa May Alcott, Emily Dickerson, and others. But I can name an American woman author who has never been honored thus, though her writings have been translated into 148 languages. More than Marx or Tolstoy, more than Agatha Christie, more than William Shakespeare.

^ Only now is the world coming to appreciate her recommended prescriptions for optimum spiritual and physical health: Ellen White. “Ellen White! You don’t know her? Get to know her.”

^ And here is a Quote from James Dobson, “I greatly appreciate you sharing Ellen G. White’s material with me. I have all of her books. They are excellent! If she were alive today, she and I would no doubt share a kindred spirit.”

^ Where is God's true remnant church?"

^ Jesus says, "And the dragon (Satan) was wroth with the women (angry with the church) and went to make war with those that keep the commandments of God and those that have (the what) testimony of Jesus" or the gift of prophecy.

^ Seventh-day Adventists, as no other church in the world, meet the characteristics of the remnant church of Revelation chapter 12 & 14.

^ The Seventh-day Adventist church is this world-wide church that God raised up to preach the end-time message. It's thrilling to sense that God has a last-day movement to which He is calling men and women to prepare them to meet Jesus when He comes.

^ The devil wants to bring prejudice to the mind. He wants to get us to “throw the baby out with the bathwater” by rejecting any idea of modern day prophets. He has tried to discredit the genuine gift of prophecy. He does not want men and women, boys and girls to get ready for the coming of Jesus. Satan wants homes broken up. He wants people to be sick and drug dependent. He especially doesn't want them to have the counsel in the gift of prophecy.

^ 2 Chronicles 20:20 says, "And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper."

^ Ellen White was chosen by God to give the Testimony of Jesus to His people of the last days, and was indeed faithful to the calling.

Shall we pray…
