She said “WOW!” It was difficult, but she is glad she took it. She has a better understanding of expectations and language levels now.Legally Required Topic:Williams LawParents had no input or questions. They had already seen the presentation at the DELAC meeting, so they were clear about the processAVID presentationMrs. Kim had inquired about the AVID program. She was not able to attend the meeting, so this will be presented at the next ELAC meetingRFEP CriteriaMr. Naranjo inquired if there are any after school ESL classes for children to help them with English language skill acquisition in order to RFEP sooner. Committee reported that the children get English language support daily at school. There are community events that would help with this process at the public library and at Barnes and Noble. Mr. Naranjo is in no rush to have his daughters exit the EL program. He is pleased with the supports at school and feel they are benefitting from being in the program.Public comments:Mrs. Naranjo is pleased with her daughters’ progress. She received report cards last week and has a question about them. She is a little concerned because her older daughter received a 50% for reading. Committee discussed that since she is an English learner, her grades may indeed be lower. We are looking for progress and language skills, so we will keep an on her progress. She was encouraged to contact the teacher for specifics and ways we can all continue to support her daughters.
