Form for Finding an Ancestor Who May Need Ordinances- Hope ChestNote: If at any stage Hope Chest is not working, refresh the page and try again!Name- FORMTEXT ????? Email- FORMTEXT ?????Phone- FORMTEXT ?????Username- FORMTEXT ?????Helper Number- FORMTEXT ?????If you have not already loaded Hope Chest on your computer, do so by opening the Google Chrome web browser and typing “FamilySearch Hope Chest” into the address bar. Now click the link to “Hope Chest-Chrome Web Store-Google” and click the blue “Add to Chrome” rectangle at the top right of the screen and then click to add extension.Sign in to FamilySearch, hover over the “Family Tree” tab and click “Tree” in the drop down menu.Click the Fan icon directly below “Person” at the top left of the screen (hover over the icons to have their names appear).In the Fan Chart view, hover over FORMTEXT ????? to the FORMTEXT ????? of the screen, and click the fan that appears at the base of their name to put them in the primary spot of the chart.Hover over FORMTEXT ????? to the FORMTEXT ????? of the screen, and click on the fan that appears at the base of their name to put them in the primary spot of the chart. Click the “Landscape” icon to the far left of “Fan Chart” Icon.Click the brown Hope Chest located at the right of the address bar at the top of the screen.In the drop down menu that appears, click “Search Descendants”. Ignore the advertisement that appears and click “Just Do Search” at the bottom left of it and then click “Start Search” in the new box that appears.You should see yellow boxes working through the descendants. These boxes turn green when they find a candidate and put the person in your Hope Chest. After the search is complete (this can take many minutes), click the Hope Chest icon again and click “Hope Chest” in the drop down menu. You can access your Hope Chest while it continues to run.Click the orange icon to the left of FORMTEXT ?????. I have included their ID# so that you can find them if Hope Chest is not working.On the new tab where the person page for your individual has opened, correct and complete vital information, analyze family information, review sources, and determine if there are duplicates for your person. Once you have completed this process, request their ordinances if they still need them. Specific Instructions- FORMTEXT ?????Feel free to review other people in your Hope Chest to see if they can be taken to the temple. After you work with someone from your Hope Chest, remember to click the box by their name in Hope Chest and click the garbage can to delete them from you list. Hope Chest does not automatically update itself and you do not want to have to redo work. ................
