Voice over sings: Welcome to my school. Stevie’s Scam School. Yeah, great.

Voice over: Hello. My name is Stevie, the reformed scam artist, and I’m here to teach you how to avoid being scammed.

Description: Stevie walks to a blackboard. A close up of the blackboard displays the title the ‘the domain name scam’.

Voice over: On with today’s lesson. I like to call this one the ‘domain name scam’.

Description: Stevie walks to a desk with a letter placed on top. The letter opens a domain name invoice slips out and it is addressed to ‘Alwayz Whyns Lawyers’.

Voice over: What happens, right, is that you’re presented with a real professional looking letter or email claiming you owe money for your domain name.

Description: A close of the domain name invoice shows how the domain name can be altered slightly to fool the recipient.

Voice over: Here’s the clever part. It looks so much like a bill and the domain name is often so similar to one you already own that you don’t even notice! It may be only a letter different, or end in a different extension like .net or .com.au.

Description: Stevie walks over to a desk with a man busy typing away, indicating payments are processed quickly.

Voice over: As the payments are often automated, getting a payment is a real synch! I used to double or triple a domain name usually cost! Zap! Pretty smart right?!

Description: Stevie walks over to a blackboard and a close up shot of the blackboard shows tips to avoid being scammed.

Voice over: …and to think, all you would have to do is to check the bill carefully before paying and double check that the domain name is actually yours!!!

Description: Long shot of Stevie in front of blackboard and Stevie walking to a computer.

Voice over: …or check that the company name is the one you registered your original domain name with! Oh well. Guess some people just don’t pick up on these things. But hey, there’ll be no fooling you now!

Description: Text displayed - ‘Protect your business’, ‘Don’t be scammed’, ‘Find out how’

Music: Solo keyboard music playing in the background.
