Putting a Word Document into a Web Site

Save the document as a web page Click on file > save as web page> Choose where to put the file Click on the button that reads change name Type in a name for the web page (can include spaces) Rename the file name so that there are no spaces Click save Close out of word

When you save a Word document as a web page, Microsoft creates an html file and a folder with associated files. The html file will be the same name as what you typed in for the file name. The folder name will be the filename plus the word "files".

These two items (the html file and the folder) need to reside in the local root folder. In Dreamweaver, you will then need to link to the html file. On the page you want to have the link, type in the words for the link Highlight the words In the property inspector, click on the folder icon next to the link box and click on the html file. Preview in the browser (F12)
