Immunization Health Fair

? The Community Education working group planned a health fair in Military Park.

? Amerigroup sponsored the event, allowing us to provide tables and chairs for 24 health vendors.

? Walgreens and Horizon NJ provided flu vaccine on site.

? Walgreens, Horizon NJ, and Newark Community Health Centers provided health screenings (blood pressure and glucose screenings).

EMIC Recognized by NJ Legislature for Immunization Initiatives

The Senate and General Assembly of New Jersey recognized the Partnership's Essex Metro Immunization Coalition for invaluable initiatives during the 2016 National Immunization Awareness Month. Training & Recruiting ? A healthcare provider that immunizes

children less than 7 years of age is required to enroll as an authorized user and report vaccinations to NJIIS. Mandatory participation is stipulated in the New Jersey Administrative Code, N.J.A.C. 8:57-3.16

? Trainers recruit and train new users on how to navigate the registry and provide technical assistance for current users.

Quality Assurance ? QA specialists ensure healthcare sites in the

process of having their EHRs interface with the registry are reporting accurate data as their records link with NJIIS.

Interoperability ? Trainer assists provider offices to interface

their electronic health record systems with the registry.

New Jersey's IIS

? NJIIS is the official immunization registry for NJ ? Home grown registry ? Operating since 1997 and was updated in 2018 with

version 2.0 ? Managed by the Vaccine Preventable Disease Program ? Life-span registry ? No membership costs or fees to participate ? All children born in NJ are automatically enrolled through

the EBC process
