SAMPLE WORDING – REDEPLOYMENT LETTER STAGE 7

(SENT BY LINE MANAGER)

Dear

Final Review Meeting

I refer to my previous letter dated [date] in which you were issued/re-issued with notice to terminate your employment with Aberdeenshire Council. In this letter, I explained that prior to the end of your notice period on [date], a meeting would be arranged to review your employment situation.

I would now like to invite you to attend a final review meeting on [date] at [time], the purpose of which will be to consider whether it is appropriate to terminate your employment on the grounds of [insert reason]. The meeting will be held at [location]. You have the right to be accompanied by a trade union representative or work colleague. The meeting is to outline the measures which have been taken to manage your current employment situation.

You should already be aware that the outcome of this meeting is that your contract of employment with Aberdeenshire Council is terminated in accordance with the appropriate policy.

I would be grateful if you could take all reasonable steps to attend the meeting on [date] however, if the companion you select is unable to attend on this date you have the opportunity to suggest an alternative. This must suit everyone involved and in normal circumstances, must be no more than 5 working days after the original date, otherwise you will need to select another companion to accompany or attend the meeting unaccompanied. However, as your contract of employment and notice period id due to expire on [date], it is imperative that if an alternative date is required, this is arranged as a matter of urgency.

Please let me know as soon as possible whether the above date and time for the meeting is suitable, whether you will be accompanied and, if so, by whom, by contacting me on [number].

I trust that this explains how the meeting will proceed however please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,
